Crowded cafe opposite to the Dom

A very crowded cafe/restaurant. The menu is pricey especially when you only get in for a cup of tea or coffee. But we found apple strudel on the menu which turned out delicious. Yes, this is a touristy kind of place, but there were also lots of locals dining al fresco in the beautiful June sunshine. The location, right in front of the magnificent cathedral, is difficult to beat and the food was delicious, if just a little pricey. I had the apfelpfannkuchen (apple pancake) and a cappuccino. Both were delicious. The place... More

Fortunately we called at this café on our first day, so we will have plenty of opportunities to call back. The apfel strudel was delicious with gorgeous custard and the cherry cake was equally good. Highly recommended and not too expensive.

Summer day, garden terrace, espresso machiato in your hand and before you there is the magnificent Cologne Cathedral. Is is really powerful view and it makes the coffee really special. (and the toilets are good attraction for just 0,50 EUR :D)

This is THE best cafe in town. Up there with the best destinations in the world. The history, the sophistication....and the prices! So cheap when you compare this to the equivalent cafe's in Paris, London etc - no comparison!! Come here and you won't regret it!

Took some clients from the UK and they too were astounded at the Desserts! Such choices, immaculately presented, a visual feast for the eyes also. Main meals are fabulously presented here too, if you prefer savory, with lots of choices and some great foodie combinations. Atmosphere was busy but friendly, and the staff more than courteous! Thanks for an excellent... More

If you need a break after touring the Cologne Cathedral, just walk across to Cafe Reichard. The small plates are lovely but limited, and the pastries to die for. On nice days the outside tables are a good choice. Be sure to visit the restrooms and watch unsuspecting visitors hesitate when they see the see-through glass doors! (They turn opaque... More

Today I was in this Restaurant and ordered Eisschokolade. The price is more expensive compared to other cade and restaurant. Unfortunately like most places in Germany waitress cannot speak English at all.

Recently had dinner and breakfast here whilst in Cologne for an overnight stay. Excellent location overlooking the Cathedral and convenient for the railway station. Food on both occasions was good and staff friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

In classy, partitioned surroundings, we experienced good, helpful and attentive service supporting very good Austrian food for dinner. Our Schnitzel mains were very nicely cooked and the accompanying salad was fresh and pleasing - both were of generous size. Our best meal in Cologne, and Cafe Reichard appeared to be popular with locals and tourists, although bookings were not essential.... More
