A lunch at the bistrot of Poele d'or. Good value but there must be better places in Köln.

I took the cheapest lunch on offer, consisting of starter plus a dish of fish, priced 16 euros. The bistrot posts the grade (16) given by the Gault and Millau guide to the main restaurant which is a Michelin starred one. This might confuse the average tourist. The lunch was decent. Unfortunately I... read more

Bistro B deserves a separate listing as it in another price category, has another entrance & atmosphere, yet shares the same kitchen to La Poele d'Or. This restaurant came recommended by two different people and we were not disappointed. There were 2 different menus; one 3 course for €31,00 and another for € 33,00. I ordered snails with artichoke hearts... More

I guess before I begin my rant I should say , yes the food here is excellent, but i am afraid that where it ends !!. We attended the Poele D'or in December 2013 to celebrate a special occasions ,expecting Michelin excellence. On arrival we were met by two young staff members who appeared panicked we were there on time,... More

We came here as a treat for our 6th anniversary and it was a real treat. The food was amazing, especially the savoury macaroons and the snails. We were looked after well and the waiters' English put us to shame. Definitely the best meal of the year (and I'm writing this on 1 January of the following year).

I took three clients to the restaurant on Tuesday evening 7 October. I had booked a table at 8pm and we arrived at 8.15pm. We had a very poor experience and, had I not been with clients, I would not have paid. As it was I paid 380 € by credit card. When we arrived there was no one in... More

Small restaurant, so small room that you can not have pleasent meal if anybody is speking on table next to you. In michelin star restaurant I expect some WOW dishes, what I received was poor or avarage. I taken 7 course tasting menu : - foie gras with chockolade was very good quality but don't need any additions like chockolade... More

Sent main course out as it was cold. Got it back where the duck meat had been microwaved, it was not pink, but gray and rubbery. Then we sent the food back once more and 30 minutes later got an ok plate back. Got no excuse ... Definitely not Michellin star worthy.

This is my second time to visit a michelin one star restaurant, compared to my first time in Lyon, I have to say I prefer to have a dinner in relaxing ambience. The food is delicious actually, but I didn't expect to have a foie gras as a cold dish. But overall, I think it is a restaurant which is... More

Attractive dining room serving excellent French cuisine with creativity; the best we've eaten outside of France! A variety of menus and a la cartes with a wide selection of wines. The service was flawless. It was a very memorable dining experience! Definitely worth a trip!

We stopped here for lunch on a Sat. Their 2 course menu was only for weekdays. We also had our 2 kids with us 13 & 10. The meal lasted over 2 hours. Don't take kids unless they are used to exotic tastes - truffles, wild mushrooms, pigeon, the routine was veal or sole on couscous. Lots of little specials... More
