I really love japanese food and I'm always happy to spend money for it.
However Ditokai is too expensive for what it offers. The quality of the food is really good. We have had teppanyaki and sushi and we were happy of both.
Unfortunately price is the issue: if you are starving and eat a good quantity of food you...

I've tried quite many japanese restaurants in my life, in various countries. But Daitokai is the best so far. The staff is really nice, and totally japanese. They understand and speak german and english without any problem. They behave in an impeccable way, starting from the oshibori in the beginning and the one-use towels for the attendants who are wearing...

The main bummer in this restaurant is the seating. You're sitting with other customers around grill tables, at just a meter from a chef grilling the food of all the people around the table. So forget about conversation, intimacy, or even relaxedly enjoying your food. We had no grilled dishes ourselves so I can't judge them, but a plain miso...

really good food and service. It is always a joy to sit at the grill and see the skilled chefs cook in front of you. Not up to the quality in Japan and Korea though.
We really enjoyed the food and the experience of having it cooked in front of us, and the service was really good. The only downside is that we were eating in a practically empty restaurant on a Saturday night, which didn't make for much atmosphere. I would reommend going to this restaurant in a group rather than as a couple.
4 dinners cost 212 euro without drinks plus 24 euro extra for the special dessert. Hibachi style dinner. We got the Menu Kyoto roast, prepared and presented nicely - no beating heart, no locomotives or tossing egg shells into their hats. Included 5 pieces of sushi, variety of tempura, salad, vegie, meat, small portion of white rice and a hibachi...

I enjoyed every moment that I spent in this beautiful place with excellent atmosphere and delicious food.
High quality ingredients, a real gourmet experience and good service. We strongly recommend.
We were a large group of 11 persons and had wonderful time at Daitokai. Both the service and the food were excellent. We had the most expensive menu and it was excellent (food quality was comparable to Nobu NY, but half the price).
