I always thought that relying on TripAdvisor reviews 100% would assure us great meals at reasonable prices, but this belief changed entirely after trying this restaurant, Brauhaus Putz, which took us 30 or more minutes to walk from the Old Town of Cologne to Engelbertstr. It was a big disappontment, my husband's Angus steak at 17 euros was very plain,... More

Visited here based on reviews, we wanted a typical German meal and weren't disappointed. Both had sausages and creamed cabbage which was great, beer also good. Very quiet so lacked a little atmosphere but this was probably because it was a midweek lunchtime, still a great experience.

It was a very wet Monday evening so we wanted somewhere close to our hotel (the Barceló). My partner, being German, wanted something authentic and this place came up in an on-line search. Service was attentive and helpful and the waiters spoke English when required. The beer is served in 0.2 glasses as is the local custom so it's fresh... More

The typical German cuisine is well accompanied by beer and very German service. Very reasonably priced and extremely tasty I would recommend this to most people! We went on a Sunday when it wasn't so busy and it seemed to be full of Brits but a great establishment none the less.

This is how I imagined a traditional German beerhouse. The staff was running all over and I don't envy them, as it is hard work. But they forgot about our food that we have waited more than an hour. It is true I got a free glass of beer to compensate but a 10 seconds stop to tell "I am... More

The services is great and the staff is very helpful. They do make you feel welcomed and are quick in sorting out a table for you. However, regarding the food, I can say that even though I've only had Schnitzels outside Germany, they were by far better than the one I ordered.

As a German visiting cologne for the second time I was looking for a traditional place to eat. The staff was friendly and our dinner arrived in under 15 minutes. You should try HIMMEL UND ÄAD MIT FLÖNZ, It sounds barbaric but tastes amazing.

"Brauhaus Pütz" is not located close to the "Kölner Dom" (Cologne Cathedral),the "Alter Markt" (Old Market) or the River Rhine Promenade, areas usually flooded with tourists."Brauhaus Pütz" is close to the "Rudolfplatz" and a section of the ring road, that circles the city core, called "Habsburgerring".Hidden away in a side street (Engelbertstraße 67),this Pub seems to cater more to the locals, with a few...
