I have been here several times. Not for the food but for the Kölch. I bit more malty kölsh than other places. Same bartender for 12 years. Great place to go with your friends. No tourist.

After eating at a few Asian restaurants in Cologne we were keen for a German meal and this place did not disappoint. The food is well priced and the servings are quite large. What makes this place fantastic is the atmosphere. There appeared to be very few tourists and it felt quite authentic. The wait for food was quite long... More

We stopped into this place while travelling from Munster to the Black Forrest. It was worth the stop as the food was lovely. The only complaint, most mains were 12 Euro's, but the the schnitznell, which most people have was 22

We visited this place as it was close to our hotel and had some good reviews on tripadvisor. The food took 45mins to arrive on the table and one of the party didn't receive their food for a further 10 minutes after that. No apology by the waiter either. The food was average but at least it was traditional German... More

I always thought that relying on TripAdvisor reviews 100% would assure us great meals at reasonable prices, but this belief changed entirely after trying this restaurant, Brauhaus Putz, which took us 30 or more minutes to walk from the Old Town of Cologne to Engelbertstr. It was a big disappontment, my husband's Angus steak at 17 euros was very plain,... More

Visited here based on reviews, we wanted a typical German meal and weren't disappointed. Both had sausages and creamed cabbage which was great, beer also good. Very quiet so lacked a little atmosphere but this was probably because it was a midweek lunchtime, still a great experience.

It was a very wet Monday evening so we wanted somewhere close to our hotel (the Barceló). My partner, being German, wanted something authentic and this place came up in an on-line search. Service was attentive and helpful and the waiters spoke English when required. The beer is served in 0.2 glasses as is the local custom so it's fresh... More

The typical German cuisine is well accompanied by beer and very German service. Very reasonably priced and extremely tasty I would recommend this to most people! We went on a Sunday when it wasn't so busy and it seemed to be full of Brits but a great establishment none the less.
