Two of us ate here for lunch. Staff quite unfriendly. We ordered lunch special - thought it came with soup and salad, but as I didn't speak German was not sure. Lunch arrived with no starter, so I presumed I had misread the menu. However, on getting the menu translated later at the Hotel, it became clear we were supposed... More

"Brauhaus Sion" is one of 3 large brew pubs, located between the Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom),Old Market (Alter Markt) and the River Rhein.Of the 3 ("Brauhaus Früh am Dom","Brauhaus Sion" and "Peters Brauhaus",see separate review, "Sion" seems to be mostly geared to large groups. Its cavernous inside. From the entrance you will pass a large stand-up Kölsch-Bar,then you step into the enormous,L-shaped main... I have been here a few times, and four out of five is my 'average rating'. The food is excellent (try the Haxe), and the Sion Kölsch is always a tasty brew. However, the standard of service varies greatly depending on which member of staff is looking after you - some of them are friendly, attentive and efficient, others are... More

I ate here on 21/7/14 for dinner and it was definitely the worst meal I've had in Germany ever. I ordered a schnitzel and it was definitely one from a packet (probably frozen), not made in house. I make my own schnitzel at home, and I've had it in various restaurants across Germany and Eastern Europe, I know what homemade... More

Brauhaus Sion is only about a 5 minute walk from the Dom. It has a few different rooms so it was no problem getting a place to sit without a reservation. The waiter we got was very friendly. I say it like this because as we went in through the main entrance and we walked to the right towards a... More

With the outdoor seating Braushaus Sion was a great place to stop for a local brew. The service was very good with friendly smiles all round. The beer too was great and just what the doctor ordered after spending half the day sightseeing.

This is another good place to drink Kolsch beer. The atmosphere was good but the staff not overly friendly.

We had a dinner there, having beer and frankfurter. Food was good. (frankfurter with potato salad and cabage). Beer was cold and fresh. People were singing and laughing, great expirience. would definetly come back again.

The food was very poor. It had obviously been kept warm for a long time and was dry and tasteless. There are definitely better places to eat in Cologne.
