Worth the wait!

One of my favourite restaurants in Cologne. It's often very crowded, so you put your name on a list, stand at the bar and drink Koelsch for half an hour, and start drooling while all those schnitzels are being served on other tables. It's on the center of Zuelpicher Strasse, close to the... read more

Went here after reading the reviews and really glad we did. Went on a Friday night at about 8.30pm and it was heaving, so we added our name to the list and was told 30 min wait. got some kolsch and that was added to our table bill. After 15-20 mins we managed to get a table for 2 (we... More

Love this restaurant so much we bring all of our out of town guests here. If you want some authentic German schnitzel this is the place. The portions are enormous and the variety to have your schnitzel served is great. It's a loud, busy restaurant almost always in the later evening so not a place for a romantic meal but... More

Huge schitzel as me and my friend struggled to finish it. The beer was good and food was reasonably priced. Schnitzel at 15 euro.

A very nice, friendly and special atmosphere... Very cosy, loud and fun, but the 3 out of 4 schitznels was dry and boring. The potatos and sauces was "ok". I would go again, but maybe just for a "Kölsch" and a snack.....

We went here for the second time and we're glad we did. You don't need a starter, otherwise you won't finish your schnitzel :-) My husband had the Jägerschnitzel and I had the schnitzel Wiener Art. This time I ate it all and that is quite something! You can get a doggybag. But I assure you, later in the evening... More

As a first time in Cologne we were looking for something authentic and German. This place was ideal. Was extremely busy when we arrived. We put our names on the list and waited around 40 minutes for a table, but were kept topped up with cold beer for our wait. Once we had our table, the food was AMAZING! the... More

Great value for huge huge portions of rustic German cuisine. The Schnitzel (incl 'proper' Viennese Veal) barely fit the big plates and will not leave you hungry. Booking essential and it does get very busy.

Very good food and beer. Very interesting menu with a wide choice of quality food. The restaurant is easily accessible.

really liked this place, staff were friendly and the schnitzels which I think is the only food they sell, were amazing! Make sure you have a good appetite! We arrived here quite late, it was rammed but sat in 40mins or so. Good value for money.
