A place to go with friends - cosy, good food, excellent atmosphere

We went on a Saturday evening and my friend prebooked a table which was necessary as the place was packed. It is a very friendly atmosphere - funny enough almost all women, only a few men. When I asked my husband how he felt about that, he liked it and did not feel out of place. The food we was... read more

A fantastic real cafe. The food is good and the coffee is excellent. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The terrace on the street is great for the summer. There are a few of these organic cafe bars and restaurants run by the same company, very professionally. A favourite of mine along with the Die Rosterei cafe next door.

Next to Salon Schmitz it attracts the same kind of people (and people that want to go to the theater). A bit more relaxed than its neighbour(s) though. And also here the hospitality is refreshing!

Invited by a friend, we discovered this nice cafe with great food. The service was good, the food excellent with an excellent plate presentation, but small portion/ price compare.

I came here looking for some Wi-Fi. The coffee was pretty at least even though there was a bit of a language barrier. I asked for a mocha and the server replied with espresso? I assumed they were asking if I wanted my mocha with espresso or drip. Low & behold I get a shot of espresso instead. At least... More

This is my idea of a relaxing evening out dining. I loved the lights and the relaxed atmosphere. The food, by the way, is grand! I had a burger and it tasted delicious. The staff were also very helpful because I couldn't understand the menu and they explained it to me, patiently.

Why a potential nice place is killed because of the most terrible and arrogant service I ve never met. Also valid for the restaurant close to the cafe

Cologne’s Bauturm Café is conveniently located at the Aachener Straße, it is part of the well-known Bauturm Theater and gives an artsy vibe without being too pretentious or overly pricy – so far, so good. Unfortunately I had there the most awful brunch experience I ever made. The place was crowded, but we managed to get a nice table outside;... More

This café is just perfect for rainy Cologne days, they have the same nice breakfast as in their sister café Feynsinn at Rathenauplatz and an appetizing choice of cakes, as well as finely brewed coffee. Special features include the stylish library section, the great lusters, and in particular the great window front, that brings in plenty of daylight and invites... More
