My partner and I had a late breakfast at 1100 hours on Saturday in a very crowded and busy cafe. Given its popularity and positive reviews there's the usual long queue. The service is good albeit relatively slow due to the volume of orders. The menu is very extensive and caters to almost every personal preference. We truly enjoyed the... More

Yummy breakfast/brunch - huge selection of meats, cheeses, egg, bacon, fruit. The scrambled eggs are very good as are all the breads and croissants. Good hangover brunch after NYE :)

This place is brilliant for brunch. A tad pricey for Cologne but same as you would pay in London. Portions were very big and the coffee was excellent.

Bastian's is a really nice place to eat sth fast and to drink coffee. I certainly recomend the gulash soupe, as it is served inside a bread ! Resonable prices. Only disadvantage, but only in my opinion, there is a lot of noise from people talking really loud.

Ok let's be clear, on average breakfast costs 11 euro's but included freshly baked bread and great great coffee. Next day tried a different cheaper place but this actually worked out more expensive when we included the pretty naff coffee. Bastians coffee was very very superior. We had omelette and a huge fried breakfast. Great stuff and regret not going... More

Popped in here for lunch after wandering round a couple of Christmas markets. Very busy, and clearly family friendly as there were several small children running around, but at times they were in danger of colliding with the waiting staff, so it was a bit stressful. I chose the broccoli and mushroom tart from the specials board. It was a... More

I visited this venue from time to time, mostly for the breads. The coffee n cakes are ok. Ambiance is kinda cantine-like. There are surely much better cafe around.

We came to Bastian's twice - once for breakfast and once for afternoon tea. It's a lovely place that is quite spacious with a friendly vibe. Food is delicious - it was nice to have some healthy options on the menu too. The service is quite slow and the staff spoke good English. Also, be careful of wasps if sitting... More

This is a typical trendy Cologne Cafe, with clean modern interior design, typical cafe chic fair to eat with the typical prices. There are so many cafés like this in Cologne that it's hard to say that being there is truly memorable. It's also really loud in there, and someone wrote down in a review "WASP" central. This is pretty... More

We had a lovely brunch here. The breads are delicious and everything we ordered was good. The rest of the menu also looked good, so we will be back sometime. However, we sat outside on the terrace, where there were many many wasps. As soon as the food was on the table, we had five to ten flying around our... More
