Great place, but be prepared...

This is a great, typical Kölsch Brauhaus. The place serves authentic local German dishes, and of course Kölsch beer. You only need to be prepared and know in advance that the service is unfriendly. It is actually a known fact that waiters in breweries in Köln are rude. They don't smile, they don't... read more

Great beer house. Love that you don't order a beer they just keep bringing it till you say no and a local place with the people next door out for dinner bringing their dog. Everyone talks to everyone. English menu and the pork knuckle amazing and huge and the schnitzel with chips and mushroom sauce was fantastic. 3 beers, 2... More

Read the review from trip advisor and there were mixed reviews. Anyway we decided to go ahead as it was strongly recommended by the old man in the hotel mentioned that the restaurant served real Köln dishes unloke others in the town serving German food from other region. Restrautant is newly renovated and bright (although I prefer the old German... More

Obviously they only sell Kolsch beer which is fine. Their food is reasonable. But both food and beer are overpriced. Staff is somewhat 'rude', which is not rude, just German beerhaus style. But foreigners may experience it as rude. They have lots of rooms and you definitely get the feeling you're in the 19th century which is worth the visit.

Excellent choice for whomever seeks to dine with locals in their style. The dishes are traditional and unique, the beer flows like water and the atmosphere is authentic. The staff was kind and diligent.

We visited this brauhaus twice. Once for drinks of Kolsch and once to eat. From the front it looks quite small and when we went to eat one evening it looked full. We were however taken to the back by friendly staff and shown another large room. The service was excellent and the food really good. The atmosphere was so... More
