Great visit to a fab restaurant

A large group of us visited for dinner recently. They coped really well with the large number. The service was quick and efficient. The menu is good with plenty to offer. The beer was very good. The wine was disappointing. Well worth a visit when in Cologne.

My wife and I went here today after a recommendation during the hop on hop off bus tour. The service was disgraceful once the waiter learned we did not speak German. He actually threw my wife's beer coaster across the table at her! Service was slow, even not forthcoming so we left after the most expensive two beers I have... More

this was the first of 5 pubs we visited on a Pub Crawl offered from our River Cruise. The beer was some of the best I have ever consumed but learning the traditions was the highlight. The beer is Kolsch and is very fresh and usually brewed on site, it is served in a small glass (little larger than a... More

This place was ideal. The schweineshaxe was just what I wanted and the doctor would have disapproved. Too bad. The service was good. The food great. The atmosphere perfect.

Advised to go there and joined by a German colleague, we went for diner at this Brauhaus. It was extremely busy but a second waiter found us a spot. The first one had told us it would be hard to get a table. As is apparently typical in Cologne you get a Kölsch beer (small-sized lager) when taking a seat.... More

They claim this is the best Kolsch in cologne but they would wouldn't they and the curtains across the doors make it an interesting entrance as you emerge into a room full of diners but they sensibly have tables just for drinking near the old cash desk at the back . The waiters are friendly enough if you want beer... More

Massive portions of tasty, meaty German food in the type of room you imagine a German restaurant to look like. Not at all formal; relaxed and 'buzzy' with a high proportion of German guests. Really excellent Kolsch. Friendly service (in the German style).

On Easter Sunday we decided to.go to this gastropub. We enjoyed every minute of it. We didn't have any starters. We just had a maincourse. We both had the Jägerschnitzel, with fries and a salad. And, of course we had Mühlen kolsch with our meal. For dessert we went elsewhere. If we would have stayed, we would have chosen the... More

We were 2 young couples in this "brauhaus". Naturally, we "tried" to get a table. But the very unfriendly waiter didn't let us, because he wanted to clean the table first. But he complained about it too loud and yelled to us. We didn't really care, cos it's really typical service in old fascinated "Brauerei in Germany. But he was... More

This place is awesome. Old building. Schnitzel and potatoes were the best i had in cologne. I don't know how they cooked them but wow! The bath rooms were downstairs and it was 10 degrees colder. Ha Good location as well. Back to our train in time.
