Terrible service. He just laughed in our faces when we asked for tap water next to the 20Eur meal and drink. Absolutely astonishing ignorance. Hot day, thirsty, bottled water is bad for the environment, and we didn't want to only drink alcohol.

You go for the beer ... you enjoy the food and the ambiance of a traditional beer joint. We visited during a weeknight without reservations and were easily seated at a table with a couple extra seats. No worries if you don't speak German, the staff (as well as our table mates) were friendly and helpful. After three days in... More

Wonderful restaurant situated just on the outskirts of all the "tourists restaurant area". Even though the restaurant was very busy, the welcome was very warm, the shoulder of pork was excellent, their house brewed beer was pretty good and always flowing. Just a little word of advise, when you no longer want your glass to be refilled, put your beer... More

Good beer, good food. We had bacon joint and sausage. it came with big portion. It was very busy even at 5pm and we had to share table with another couple.

My partner and I went here and got what we wanted, which was a bit more of an authentic brauhaus experience. It was packed on a Saturday night but got perched on the end of a table and got into the swing of things. Since our German is terrible it was a bit of a gamble with our food, but... More

A must for the ambiance, all wood inside etc. Did not drink beer for lunch and seemed to surprise the waiter.... My pals's sauerbraten was good, not great. My daily special of Koenigsberger Klopse with caper sauce, a dish I had never eaten in its home country, was copious and tasty and CHEAP, less than 10 euros

Nice brewery, typical German style. Beer flows relentlessly and the atmosphere is pleasantly cheerful. However, I was disappointed by the food, as the selection was rather dull and the beef steak that I had was just wrong (tasted old and chewy). All in all, I would recommend it for a beer with friends but if you're after a good meal,... More

This was like walking into a medieval banquet hall. All that's missing is a fire pit and a beer wench. What you do get is what seems to be a gruff waiter handing out test tubes of beers, the kolsh way, and not taking money - merely marking your card. Well he will take your money. We had a bite... We popped in for a final Kölsch before leaving Köln. Food was very good pub fare at better than usual value, especially given the central location, just off of Rathaus Platz. Service quick and attentive.

This was one of our highlights while in Köln. It was lively without being overbearingly loud. The crowd seemed local, which made us feel great about choosing this hall for dinner. The food was very authentic German Bier Hall. The hock with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes was amazing. The local brew, Kolsch was free flowing in 21cl glasses and complimented... More
