Immerse yourself into a classical style brewery house with excellent food

Have been here several times with guests, it is my absolute favourite. Extensive meny with classical German and central European dishes, together with a wide variety of beers. For all non-local people who cry about the "rude service": Go to Mc'Donalds, but not in an old traditional beerhouse if you don't know or don't understand the cologne mentality. It is in Cologne normal, that every spoken word is very direct but just in a few cases very serious. There is always humor and fun behind the "assaulting words".... More

It' s a really fun and lively place. They waiters keep running around with huge trays full of glasses of beer and if they see that your glass is empty or about to get empty they automatically give you another glass. They keep your tab on your beer mat with a black crayon. They have a unique technique of filling... More

Short version: AVOID AT ALL COSTS, HORRIBLY RUDE STAFF Long version: We went into the Bierhaus around lunchtime on the Christmas market. Since it was cold outside (and around lunch) we did not want to order beer, so we wanted to order some warm drinks. The first person to order went for a Cappuchino, after which the waiter replied with... More

We visited this beer hall on Saturday 8th November 2014 and received an abrupt welcome from the woman that was greeting customers. The establishment was quite full so my wife and I stood near the window at a table. When my wife returned from the restroom she spotted a unused stool and began to take it to our table. The... More

Attended a group dinner here. Everyone enjoyed the beer and food. I was looking forward to a pork knuckle dinner all week long and was not disappointed. Very tasty and actually more than I could eat.

I am sure I am being sold an incorrect picture of what a decent, legit German bierhaus is but even if this is the Disney version of a bierhaus I am a fan. Good beer. Good service. Good food and the prices are not so bad. Was a lot of fun going there with friends to watch soccer or with... More

From the outside this bierhaus seems rather inviting. We decided to give it a try. The two of us were lead to a table and before we could count to four we were served the local beer. So far so good. The staff was heavily pushing beer but eventually we managed to order two different dishes. We had to wait... More

Not so great staff. Witnessed really rude staff. On the day of cologne marathon a runner and his mate had gone in for a beer afterwards and had been ill in the toilet. A fellow customer reported it to the barman and he basically told the runner to clean it up himself in a really rude way. Appreciate you don't... More

Went in on a Thursday and had trouble getting a table. Atmosphere was brilliant, beer was very good, and the pork knuckle was much too much for me to eat- and I have a huge capacity for food. Its touristy but worth a visit. We tried to eat here again on a Friday but they were booked solid all evening.
