This place is like a tardis! We sat outside, but when I ventured inside to the toilets I could see the place is vast, lots of different nooks and crannies. I imagine in winter it is a great place to eat in. Its really difficult to choose a restaurant in Cologne as they all look so good. I think our... More

Great place for good German food and local Koelsch beer. We visited here for Sunday lunch. Having wandered Koeln, we had a good appetite. Gilden im Zims provided the solution. Whether you sit outside or go inside where there is a surprising number of rooms and floors. First comes the beer. Koelsch is served in small glasses from gravity feed... More

We stumbled across this place on our way back to the hotel from the Chocolate Museum. The food was good German food and my son said it was the best apple strudel he had all trip. The prices were a little higher than other similar places but not outrageous. The restaurant itself was very interesting with a lot of history.... More

On a very hot afternoon this bar and restaurant proved to be above average both in serves and price. The outside appears to indicate a small interior but it isn't, quite the contrary. The tables are large enough to accommodate six to eight people without rearranging the room. The noon selection was ample and the serves was very fast.

Large choice of specialities, medium quality food, prices are high but reasonable for the town centre. Friendly personnel

The roving band across the way, the really fun square this restaurant sits on (a lot of wine bars in the center) and laughter all around made this special. The food was pretty good. My wife had the deep fried pig's knuckle which we could have easily shared if I had wanted to. I started getting into German/Austrian soups so... More

We came here on the last night of our weekend trip to Koln, and glad we did. I had the sausage with fried potatoes and salad which was great if a bit greasy. Pudding as Apple Strudel which was fantastic. We sat outside as it was a lovely evening, and the atmosphere was great with so many other outside tables... More

We arrived at the Gilden im Zims around 7 pm and we're equally surprised and disappointed to hear from a waiter standing at the door that the place was full and no tables were available. As we were departing another waiter called us and led to a large dining room at the back which was not even half full. We... More

Beer and schnitzel and it doesn't get better than Zims. Great service and incredible value. I thoroughly enjoyed the night.
