My husband and I visited here on a cold winter's night for a rare weekend away, alone together. From the moment we entered we could not fault the cheerful and attentive service. The food was excellent. I started with the scallops and veal cheeks which were a match made in heaven. My husband had perch/pike with salsify which were again... More

We went on a city trip to Aachen to visit the special exhibitions organized for the Charlemagne Year. We decided to have lunch in this restaurant because it was one of the only ones mentioned for Aachen in the Michelin guide that way (hopefully) avoiding a tourist trap. The food is modern, original and good with many specials for the... More

I'm told it used to have a Michelin star. Despite a warm welcome & decent service, the food was average, the wine nice but not cheap, & the service friendly but not so efficient. Rather expensive & very quiet on a Tuesday evening. I'm sure there are better restaurants

Very unlike a bistro on a large square. This bistro is nice and cosy. A few tables downstairs, more room upstairs. We had dinner there and enjoyed the meal. Loved the extensive salt ad pepper selection. Take time to browse through the wine list. Besides a nice menu, they serve a few good dishes. Try the crème brûlee. It was... More

Very good food, not the beaten track, fine flavours and herbs, unusual combinations. Nice wines. food and wines are fair priced. Downstairs hip, upstairs stylish. And good modest service.

This restaurant has only a nice facade. The appetizers were good (scallops, and the other was tomato-carrot soup), but the halibut was dry and the sauce too salty. For dessert we ordered one chocolate mousse with orange and one lemontarte. The mousse came with grapefruit, (they told us it didn't come with orange) which didn't fit at all with the... More

Petit Charlemagne is simply one of the best restaurants in Aachen. It is very pricey and posh, but the quality of the food is outstanding.
