Heaven for Baumkuchen fan

If you are into Baumkuchen, this is the right place to taste different of those. They have plenty of Baumkuchen with different kinds. Really tasty though they are too creamy for my taste.

We had lunch at Café Middelberg on a very busy Saturday. Although the place - both inside and on the terrace - was very crowded, we were served very quickly by friendly and helpful waitresses. The food was excellent. We will be back.

Great selection of cakes, pastries and biscuits as well as some savoury tarts. Sit in or takeaway-efficient service and good value too. Attractive shop with outdoor seating in the warmer months. 100% worth a visit if you're in Aachen.

Aachen is a phenomenal town and a city not to miss. Quintessential Germany with the cobble stone streets, historic churches, and some of the best bakeries in Germany. Cafe Middelberg was the best of the best. Always a strong line of locals both doing take away and eating on site. In door and outdoor seating. If there are no tables... More

While in Aachen we were told we had to take a visit to the Cafe Middelberg which is reputed to have the best cakes in town. Having tried & tested several cakes among our little group, we would have to agree. One was nicer than the other & none disappointed! The staff gave us a lovely table & looked after... More

The cafe features an extensive array of German cakes, with a number of selections that one does not always find so common. Their marzipan cake is one such example, which consists of layers of cake, cherries, raspberries and marzipan. This cake is perhaps the best of their selection. The patio is situated on a lovely cobblestone street which gives one... More

Would always recommend their breakfast buffet, it is well priced and offers a variety of different options. Next to that their cakes are just heavenly, sit outside and enjoy the nice view and a slice a fresh cake

Gorgeous pastries and cakes and excellent fresh coffee. A real treat. I notice that the local 'old ladies' treated themselves here and they always know what's best!
