Schnitzel Day!

We were here last year with a German friend, she told us the food was great. So this year, we happen to be in Rostock and we decide to come here again. Once again we try the schnitzel, it was fantastic, the place is full of locals on a Thursday lunch time, that's alway a good sign. The... read more

The place is a braugasthuas, which essentially means that they are serving you all kinds of beer from the local brewery. And trust me, the beer is great! The restaurant is cosy and is packed with people having a great time out. Lots of groups having a ball. Quite noisy but that goes with the style. The food is sturdy... More

Food is pretty good, Beer is great, and the price is right for what you're getting. Was there in September of 2013 and will most CERTAINLY visit this place again when we go back for another visit.

Terrible service, bland food! While on a short trip to Rostock, we made reservations at the Braugasthaus due to the positive reviews. What a mistake, we waiting 10 minutes to be seated even though the staff was constancy walking pass us as we didn't exist. Once seated, we waited another 15 mins for our waiter. It took about the same... More

I was there with a friend during the Hanse Sail event, and the place was packed! We were still able to get a table, and the waiters and servers were prompt and nice. We have been looking for schweinshaxen all over Rostock, and this is one of the good places to have it! Crispy skin and all! The potatoes were... More

We have eaten in "Zum Alten Fritz" back in April 2014 when we were visiting the family in Rostock. A first time for me and what a pleasant occasion it was. It was a Sunday afternoon, relatively busy, but not too busy. The food was lovely, home cooked and well prepared and there was lots of space for our children... More

This micro brewery isn't so micro really, but a rather big place with plenty of tables inside and outside. The food is very German and there is a wide selection of locally produced beer, most of it in bottles rather than on tap. Service was fine, food good and the bill reasonable (although there are certainly cheaper places to eat... More

Nice restaurant, serving great meals and nice beers. A lot of meals tot choose from, alleen quite authentic Germanen. Also aan variaty of beers tot choose. I chose the 1 kg 'Fritz Haxe', which is perfect but also huge. The meat was very good and by stopping just in time, I was able to enjoy the cherry, ice and chocolate... More

We eat here every time we're in Rostock, another fantastic lunch with excellent Northern German cuisine, the red cabbage was delicious and the mulled wine with cream a nice surprise, meal starting from 5 euros upwards! The beer as good as always!!
