Seafood, fresh from the boats

We were fortunate to be touring with our German exchange student as the wait staff had little to no understanding of English. However, English menus were available. Three different seafoods (Norwegian salmon, local fresh water pike / white fish, cod - Dorsch gebraten, Lachs gedunstet, Zander) all... read more

We love this place, you almost can't get better fish somewhere else in Rostock. It doesn't look like a five star restaurant, but the food definitely deserves five stars

This is a place worth a visit in Rostock. Very authentic sailor restaurant near the old City Harbour. Good food and beer.

Food was quite reasonable, found the service only alright - efficient but not pleasant. The decor is ok, quite kitsch. Wouldn't jump to recommend the place, but it does the job.

Three different seafoods (Norwegian salmon, local fresh water pike / white fish, cod - Dorsch gebraten, Lachs gedunstet, Zander) all prepared and presented in a most delicious fashion. We went here based on some of the reviews we read. Perhaps it was an off-day but our meals were among the worst we had during our 5 weeks in Europe. The fish gratin had hardly any fish in it and the herring was over-cooked. The service was nothing to write home about -- relatively efficient but hardly pleasant. I... More

First visit but I had seen the restaurant several times on previous trips. Both the food and service were excellent.

We first visited Rostock the spring after re-unification and the city seemed very poor. Our hotel recommended this as the best (only?) place for dinner and helped us make the reservation. There were 6 of us and almost no other guests. The food was not memorable but we first tasted draft Rostocker beer. The staff allowed us to buy some... More

We had dinner here as part of our 4 day wedding celebrations in 2010 and we enjoyed a wonderful meal (especially the Matjes Teller was very popular with the wedding party. And when we came outside there was a firework (unplanned by us) which made it even more special. I come regularly in Rostock and will be back soon.
