Cron & Lanz is the best place I know in whole Europe for excellent cakes, biscuits, tarts ice-cream and other sweets. It`s an old traditional cafe, with nice old fashioned furniture and 2 lovely outdoor places, one in front of the main entrance and one on the roof, behind the house.

The iconic coffee place in the heart of Goettingen with excellent cakes and delicious sweets. But the staff especially the manager often have an arrogant and unfriendly attitude. Much nicer is their smaller offspring in the so called Ostviertel.

Local friends shouted us coffee and cake here. It was amazing; the cakes looked and tasted sooo delicious and the Viennese-style tea room atmosphere was really lovely! Go early so you can choose from the broadest selection as popular items sell out. Everything is beautiful and just window-shopping makes your mouth water.

Cron & Lanz has plenty of delicious desserts. I love the atmosphere there. located in the city center, near the shops and restaurants and near the alt-rateshaus.

This place is to be recommended for its excellent cakes, tarts and chocolates. They are very proud of their Baumkuchen, a traditional German cake which takes very long to make. (Though I personally don't think it's all that special.) Maybe try the chocolatey Herrentorte instead? Unfortunately the staff is notoriously unfriendly. In the words of a good friend: a smile... Handmade chocolates + delicious cakes in a rather traditionally styled "Café". Quite pricy bites, served/sold by the most unfriendly staff in southern Lower Saxony. Better try out the Café Botanik" instead, with homemade cakes in a comfy atmosphere.

For cakes this place its far away the best in the whole region. You can get always something there. It's not a restaurant its not a Bakaery but it's really good.

I have friends who live in Gottingen, and every time I visit they take me to Cron and Lanz simply because it is an amazing place to eat at, for locals and visitors! The decor is old in style, but very modern. There is an upstairs dining area which is always lovely to sit at and enjoy your food or... More

Take the time machine some centuries back, to experience fine exquisite confectionery, bakery and other fine warm meals. You will be welcomed by the fresh grinded coffee. The interior makes you feel sitting with the old Local poets and physicians. Must see and take some eatable souvenirs.
