2 FABULOUS Meals!!

We were in Braunschweig for 6 days visiting our daughter. My husband and I were looking for some great food near our hotel. Of the restaurants on this 2-block stretch, this one looked like the classiest. So, we took a seat. One of the owners, Erhart, came to our table and explained the menu... read more

Went with friends. My german friends took me here. We went for coffee and cake. We got a table and ordered our choices. But the cakes were bad. They were stale. Coffee was strictly ok. We tried to call the waiter but he seemed to be busy. The food is expensive and the cakes are pathetic. Went home and got... More

Cafe Strupait was a nice surprise regarding atmosphere, service and quality of food. The staff was extremely friendly, polite, flexible and efficient. Even though we had not booked and the restaurant was fully occupied, we managed to get a table. They were also very friendly and easy going with children.

This is a light fare restaurant for dinner. Not a place to bring children. My kids eat all sorts of sophisticated meals but this is really a place for great salads, unique pasta and interesting flammkuchen. I was not very hungry and they were starving they had pasta with pesto, but the sun-dried tomatoes and arugula were not their favorites.... More

We ended up having two meals here, breakfast and dinner. We had started out for An der Pfaffenrestaurant for breakfast, based on Tripadvisor recommendations, but they did not open until 10AM. Cafe Strupait is right next door (and a short stroll to the main square). Breakfast was buffet style standard bakery with an egg dish, sausages, bacon, great ham, fruit,... More
