This place is in the historic center of the city. It is is itself a historic palce, being an inn since the medieval age. Food is very good quality, service is friendly, price and quality match. The highlight of the place is the historic ambience. The public room is low, but very cozy. It breathes history. On the second floor... More

In our case this was the case as the evening we had dinner there the special of the day was their goose with all the trimmings - red cabbage and dumplings. We were told by our guide that this was a typical Christmas dinner in Germany. What a perfect dinner for our first night! However, the goose was a bit... More

This restaurant is in the midst of old German houses that have been well maintained and are very beautiful. It is also in a University town. The Platz was busy with students. The waiter spoke good English. They had a large menu. The food was very good. We all ordered different meals and all were happy. They also have vegetarian.... More

I always seem to wind up here on visits to Marburg; and look forward to one particular dish, Ulmer Schnitzel, which never disappoints (but that's all I can comment on). Otherwise, this restaurant is centrally located in the most picturesque part of town in a lovely (inside and out) historical building. Service is fine, and though it's quite popular, you... More

Yes, I wish I lived at this hotel and could eat every meal at this restaurant: the food is some of the best I've ever eaten, which is saying a lot. The owners and staff are genuinely friendly, relaxed and helpful. Prompt, friendly service and fantastic food is a combination not often found in Germany. Zur Sonne proved consistently fantastic... This is a super little restaurant in the heart of this beautiful, historic old city. Sitting in the Market square watching life drift by whilst enjoying a superb meal. The menu has excellent choices and they can provide one in English if you request it. The staff are attentive, the prices are reasonable. If you come to Marburg then do... More

very cosy and romantic place. The oldest house in town. Restaurant since ca. 450 years and still very good. Service and food are very good.

Nice German menu and good. Turnip soup was very good and fresh salads. Snitzel very good but too much cheese sauce. Always an interesting experience in the German style. Good service.

Traditional German cousins is advertised but the menu was rather limited and the food was ok rather than outstanding. Inside the ambience is quiet and suitable for any occasion and the service was good. If I return to Marburg I will probably sample other restaurants before returning.

Very nice restaurant in the "upper" part of the city, filled with locals and therefore a nice lively atmosphere. We returned here after an earlier visit last year that was very good and high quality. This time it was again very nice. Because we came in with 10 of us we got one of the private rooms upstairs. Waiters are... More
