very cosy and romantic place. The oldest house in town. Restaurant since ca. 450 years and still very good. Service and food are very good.

Nice German menu and good. Turnip soup was very good and fresh salads. Snitzel very good but too much cheese sauce. Always an interesting experience in the German style. Good service.

Traditional German cousins is advertised but the menu was rather limited and the food was ok rather than outstanding. Inside the ambience is quiet and suitable for any occasion and the service was good. If I return to Marburg I will probably sample other restaurants before returning.

Very nice restaurant in the "upper" part of the city, filled with locals and therefore a nice lively atmosphere. We returned here after an earlier visit last year that was very good and high quality. This time it was again very nice. Because we came in with 10 of us we got one of the private rooms upstairs. Waiters are... More

I enjoyed three dinners in this "Alt Stadt" restaurant. For each dinner, i enjoyed 3 courses with wine. The food is freshly prepared to order and served in a cozy and historic building. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The fish and meat courses with the pumpkin soup with roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin oil were outstanding. Many tables... More

Four friends had a wonderful lunch meal dining al fresco on a beautiful day. Soups and salads were wonderfully prepared and beautifully presented, all at a very reasonable price. The waitstaff was friendly and able to deduce correctly what non-German speakers wanted. And this seems to be a place where lots of local come to meet and eat.

I looked for this place because of Tripadvisor, but you can't miss it in the middle of Marburg old town. Sure enough it was full for lunch, so I came back after lunch somewhere else and had coffee (excellent, management is Italian) and a good cigar, and enjoyed the view.

You're sitting in the ground floor or 1st floor in an extraordinary, historic dining area, surrounded by old furniture and other decoration. In summer, some tables are offered outside with nice view at the historic marketplace. The food is down to earth, very good and richt, they serve great beers and some good wines. The waiters are very attentive. Reservation... More

Had a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was not very busy. Staff was very nice...some spoke English. Found the menu selection to be a bit limited--maybe it there lunch menu. We had a schnitzel with käsespatzel and an omelette. Food was very good. A little pricey, but bad. Outdoor seating is nice, but limited. The restaurant is... More
