Schnitzel mit Grune sosse with a glass of Apple Wine is just the thing you need to have to complete your Frankfurt visit. The dishes are served fresh and not from can or deep freeze. The service is excellent. And while you wait for your dish to arrive you can look at all the Hangings in the wall. A... read more

Compare to some other "apfelwein" restaurants, this one offers various beers as well. The food is well cooked and delicious (of course, if you like German food). The staff is friendly, speak English. They also have a beer garden, which makes this place even nicer during the summer. I would recommend it.

for a number of years I was there like clockwork every day for lunch, always at the same table (outside in the summer) while I was working as a graphic designer in an advertising agency up the road. Most times I extended my lunch hour because it was so nice that I had to stay another 10 minutes and another....... More

Portions are large. Starters are a bit (too) simple and even tasteless, but main courses are nice and tasty - we had some salads and schnitzels for our group. We also had our first "apfelweins", which were ok. House wine was ok. What was very disappointing was the fact that they did not except any of our (many) credit or... More

I visited here on recommendation of the friends we were staying with in Frankfurt. It was just what I had hoped for, great menu, good drinks selection and a very authentic feel. I had their specialty, Apfelwein, which was very tasty and to eat I had the Corden Bleu Schnitzel. It was a huge piece of meat with a sizable... More

Well, it might take a bit of tracking down, but you´ll be glad you found Dax. Typical German Apfelweinkneipe food, but with a very long menu there´s something for everyone. As well as the local cider on tap they have a delicious Naturtrüb ´cloudy lager´ style beer. Thoroughly recommended!

The Applewine Dax is a very nice applewine bar in Frankfurt Sachsenhausen. It is still authentic and not just made up for tourist. I one would like to have a nice evening in a local bar one should go to the Dax. The food is very good and the range on the menu longs from very basic local frankfurt food... More

Great food, fun, interesting apple wine, cozy fun place. Owner collects liscense plates, he was missing some from the south, but now has the Tar Heal state.

We loved this restaurant and would have never found it except for the staff at our hotel (The Lindner) who recommended it when we asked for genuine German food. Get the pork schnitzel with cheese on top, and the Spaetzle noodles. Finish it off with some apple wine. Delicious!

Apfelwein Dax is a short distance away from the main hustle and bustle of Old Sachsenhausen and therefore is the type of place you usually find out about only through an insider tip. Luckily some German friends of our tipped us off some time ago and we've been regularly expanding our waistlines at Dax ever since. The menu is a... More
