Great hearty food

Nice restaurant with a solid selection of Austrian/German food like Wiener Schnitzel, but I went for the Geschnetzeltes, which was very tasty and also filling. Friendly and attentive waitress, plus outdoor seating.

Yes, yes, this place has good Schnitzel, sausage, beer, etc. But it's the Kaiserschmarrn with Zwetschgenröster you don't want to miss out on! That's just awesome and the reason I keep on coming back...

Dined with a business colleague. Menus are available in English. Traditional German food. Eight beers on tap (vom fass). Reservations strongly recommended. Very reasonable prices. Just around the corner from the Goethe House.

I have to admit that i didn't knew germans have menu if the day in restaurants, so when i found one, i wad delighted to try it. The food combination was indeed wonderfull. I have to complain about the staff a bit. At some poit there was a free table in the sun and we wanted to exchange it with... More

This is the kind of place you long for in Frankfurt - and so rarely find. In other words, it's not a rip-off tourist joint with huge portions of second-rate German offerings. In fact, considering the quality of the cooking, prices here are very reasoonable, and the ambience and service are perfect. Go for the specialities - the schnizel is... More

Food, staff, decor all excellent! Go there! On vacation we normally just wander around until we find something. It is hit and miss. This was a huge hit! It was German food without the tourist kitch. It seemed both traditional and modern. I had both vegetarian entrees and loved the dumpling trio. The cheese starters were also great. My husband... More

Nice outdoor dining in mild weather. Just around the corner from the Goethe House, and walking distance from the ECB, the Roemer and other traveler's destinations. There are a number of outdoor cafes on this street, and the atmosphere is lively. Very accomodating wait staff, in no hurry to move you out of your seat. Probably the best Kaiserschmarn you'll... This is a great find. A little restaurant which offers warmth and great hospitality. The food is very nice. I had cheese sausage which came with horseradish. Wow. The reception is a very very nice guy. We need more people like this in the service industry. Their schnitzel is very nice. Yum

On a brief 24 hour layover in Frankfurt, I just happened upon Salzkammer, liked the posted menu and decided to go in for lunch. I honestly had no idea of its high ranking in TripAdvisor. Boy am I glad that I did. It was cold and rainy outside, I was hungry and needed some really good hearty Austrian comfort food.... More
