My favorite place for a schnitzel and beer in Frankfurt

I used to live in Frankfurt and this was my go-to place for a schnitzel and beer. The bar has a great atmosphere, fantastic menu and great service. I leant this restaurant from Frankfurt on foot tour. I learn they are one of best local restaurant with fare price in Frankfurt. We ordered pork knuckles, the pork skin is super crispy and meat is surprised tender! One of my favorite is "small dish" green sauce with fried pork chop. The green sauce balance the oily flavor and delightful... More

Took my family there as it is my regular restaurant I go to when I am there on business. It has all the essential German dishes as well as excellent selection of beer and local atmosphere. Great job team.

Went looking for a bite to eat on our overnight layover in Frankfurt. Hotel recommended we visit the area around Hauptwache train stop. Came across this little gem of a place. Exactly what we were looking for. A pub style restaurant with great service, good pub style food and awesome beers. I had the Hefeweizen in a .5l mug. Delicious.... More

We had dinner at Leib und Seele after the opera New Year's Day. It was open late (so late in fact that people were still coming in at midnight when we were leaving). We had very good schnitzel & wurst, and they even had Kolsch, which we had grown to love while we were in Cologne earlier on this trip.... More

Went there once on a cold sunday afternoon and was really impressed. It was packed but still managed to find a place. Food selection was good at a reasonable priced. The waitress was very helpful and friendly (what I call a perfect service with a smile). I took the pork knuckle, (massive portion). Trying out their apple strudel is an absolute... More

Our friends had booked a table here and recommended the schnitzels. Lovely! I had the one with green sauce (Frankfurt speciality) and my husband one in farmer's style. The portions are huge and the prices low. And the beer selection was good, too (e.g. try the wheat beer). We ended up staying here quite some time. The atmosphere was lively.... More

A nice saleswoman at the pharmacy pointed us to this place. She said, all the locals ate here and she was right. We had dinner here 3 out of 5 nights of our stay in Frankfurt and the place was packed with locals each time. Be aware that this is a casual local hang out and you might have to... More

Great combination of schnitzel and atmosphere (lots of outdoor seating on a pleasant street), in a very central location. Tip 1: the cordon bleu is very good. Tip 2: the mashed potatoes are off the charts, they are so good. Tip 3: for dessert and coffee, go next door to Wacker's, which is an institution
