From France for a business trip, we have been advised to have a diner in this restaurant. We have been satisfied by both the diner (food and beer) and also by the service which is efficient. Nothing special as far as style is concerned; Very quiet on monday night of course (like the entire street and other restaurants by the... More

A local brought us here to sample Frankfurt specialties, such as Frankfurter Schnitzel, Chanterelle soup, Gekochte Ochsenbrust mit Grüner sosse (special 7 herb green sauce) and apple wine.

Forget a romantic evening here! This is for large noisy groups. We were quite a bunch and service was surprisingly fast despite our number. Their flammkueche are good and also ask for the daily specials if you wish to have choices other than heavy sausage/ pork and potatoes. There is duck, lamb, suckling pig, etc. My rioja wine didn't taste... More

Traditional Frankfurt food goes beyond apfelwein…and thank goodness, because I discovered I don't like apfelwein. But the other food I sampled at Dauth-Schneider was great. My friend and I sampled three appetizers, including a baked potato with Frankfurter sauce and the Schneegestover (cream cheese/garlic snowball) which I especially liked. And I really enjoyed Schnitzel with green sauce. Atmosphere is low-key... More

Visited this place having did a search of traditional Frankfurt food and being impressed with the presentation of their website and range of food on their menu. Wow, we were not disappointed. Seating was available both inside and out. it was a nice evening so chose to sit out. The service was superb, not in your face but ready whenever... More

While walking through the neighborhood checking out the various restaurants we decided to give this one a go. And we were pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff. Spacious rooms and our choice of table on this slow Tuesday evening. The menu was varied, with so many German dishes to choose from. Loved our generous dishes and recommended beer. Very affordable and a... More

Very friendly staff, big portions, tasty food, fair price! A good place to eat among locals & tourists. I ate a delicious pumpkin soup with ginger and then I had a huge pork knuckle with sour cabbage and aplfelwein. All for only 15,30 Eur. The lady that took my order (the nice one that usually puts her glasses on her... More

A great restaurant with local food for all tastes. The food was delicious and we found it more than affordable. It's a true German-style local restaurant with good Apfelwein among other things. It's situated in the Alt-Sachsenhausen part of the city which offers pleasant strolls.

We arrived around 7:45 and wanted to sit outside but was told that outside seating would be closed at 8:00. So we sat inside at a long wooden table with benches, which were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful giving us tips on Apfelwein. We ordered both Apfelwen and beer and I personally preferred beer to the... More
