Outperformring local food

On the first sight the restaurant is the same like a lot of other "Äbbelwoi" restaurants. Interior and seats are structured as known. BUT! We went there without reservation. It was full but in 5 min we were sitting on a long table sharing with others. No credit card accepted, so bring cash with you. The food is delicious. After the meal try the schnaps.

This is a great place to have a snack, lunch, or dinner in Frankfurt. I came here with a friend and we had "Handkäse mit Musik", a local cheese, and drank "Apfelwein" (cider). They serve great food using simple, high-quality ingredients, which makes it a very authentic food experience. Also, the service is really nice and helpful and the atmosphere... More

This is one of the apfelwein taverns that locals go to. It serves good quality and hearty local fare. It's quite a small venue, but the waiters will try and find you a place at a table and you might have to wait a while, but still, you can always have a drink at the bar! Atschel is often open... Atschel is a traditional Frankfurt Apfelhaus which serves homely but tasty fayre, along with local apple wine and excellent beers by Licher. The apple wine is an acquired taste but the food is plentiful and very enjoyable. I had Weiner Schnitzels which were lovely. The atmosphere is very convivial and leaves you with the feeling that people have been served... More

We ate here on out first night in Frankfurt. The Sacsenhause area of Frankfurt has a nice collection of traditional German restaurants and is a nice area to wander around at night. The place was full of locals which is always a good sign. There were the usual traditional dishes of Handkase mit musik and a variety of green sauce... More

I just love this place, everytime I visit Frankfurt, never that I forget to have dinner here. No matter how busy they are, I will wait. I never tasted Pork Knuckle so good.
