Our group of three had a wonderful time and great food at Atschel. We even discovered new German friends with the communal tables. We began with the "Sachsenhäuser" Cream Cheese & Bread (very nice). Then we each had a bowl of delightful Onion Soup au Gratin (excellent flavor with just a hint of rye from the bread cubes). Our main... More

We didn't have a reservation and they were fully booked, but said that if we came back in an hour they could probably fit us in. They did just that and it was well worth the wait. We shared a table with two local couples who were very friendly and offered much advice about visiting the city. The food choice... More

Located on Sachsenhausen zone, you will find a restaurant where you will love the food, the typical German plates and Mr. Harry's team sympathy! Love the Schnitzel and the Pork medaillons. The green sauce?? Fantastic!! Congratulations for the cosy food!! Hugo Lima & Gil Vicente from Portugal

Traditional German beer house....long tables and benches, you mix with others which makes it a friendly place and provides a nice buzz when busy. It is clean and the service very friendly and efficient.....our server explained about the history of the building Food was good honest German style cooking and lots of it....Apfelwein was warm or cold and the beer... The food was excellent, and really filling. Our waitress was very friendly. Down to earth local atmosphere. A bit strange that it is still cash only so come prepared. Would highly recommend overall and will go back the next time I am back in Frankfurt.

I read some previous reviews about the owner and his son being somewhat grumpy, and wasn't disappointed as I walked in with my broken German. I got a snarky chuckle in response and a general point in the direction of my table, which was charming in it's own German way. My waiter was very sweet and pleasant and recommended the... More

We chose this because it was the highest rated restaurant on TripAdvisor for German food in Frankfurt. I had the hotel call and make us a reservation, which turned out to be a great idea since the wait was over an hour once we arrived for those without. We were tired and took a taxi the 1,5 km from the... More

We went there for lunch. Almost full but we shared a bench with other people. Very friendly attenders brought our beer (only2 type but very good). And in 25 min we had our dishes. Schnitzel and pork shoulder. Both them were excellent. The bill was an amazing surprise too. Less than 20E each, includind other drinks. We will try it... More
