I had one evening in Frankfurt after my trip to Alsace and was looking for a good German restaurant. I chose this place based on the TripAdvisor reviews and I was not disappointed. This is an apple wine garden; just like a beer garden, but they serve a house cider. We had to sit outside in the back at a... More

We ate here following Rick Steves' recommendation. Atschel is in the residential and trendy Sachsenhausen District. Because the weather was threatening rain, sat in a table midway between indoors and the outdoor patio. We had the meat dishes (with the reknowned Frankfurt sauce) and they were all delicious. It took a long time to get our food but that seemed... More

Atschel has great food and large portions (with cheap prices!). The service is great, and my only fault I could find was with the bugs. Granted, we were sitting outside, but the mixture of bees & flies buzzing around did make it difficult to enjoy the meal. Also, the restaurant keeps the doors & windows open during the day, so... Good atmosphere, there are just long picnic tables and you just find a spot wherever you will fit..about 12 different pork dishes, all about 10 euro, large servings, and house apfelwein is only 1.70 euro

Great food, Great beer, and Apflwein, need I say more??!! Went here with my family of 7 recently. Had an incredible meal, the best pork knuckle we had in Germany! Schnitzel etc equally good. I think it IS worth going out of your way to find, make sure you sit outside for the full biergarten experience=)

A great hidden find and even better beer garden. Great staff, fantastic platters of pork and sausage. Just sit down, tell the staff how many people are eating and prepare to be fed! Great range of German beers and of course Apfelwein, will definitely go back.

This is a nice German pub restaurant with very reasonable prices , but I can't imagine it's in the top 30 restaurants in Frankfurt. There is nothing especially wrong with it , but equally nothing much special about it. Frequent it if you're in the area , but I wouldn't go out of my way to find it.

This is my third visit to Atschel. I had thought when I first visited that Atschel that it was simply a classic bar that tourist are required to visit. But I was wrong it is quite trendy among locals. On this third visit I took my elderly mother for an early dinner. We both ordered entries. I had port schnitzel... More

This place not only had excellent German food (even my German mother would have been very impressed), the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. It's also extremely reasonably priced and the meals are huge. We had the Jaeger schnitzel and the Wiener schnitzel which were both delicious! The apple dessert (like apple donuts) looked amazing, but we were too full.... More

My partner and I visited this restaurant for one of our first meals in Europe and it was soo good. We wish we could have returned and eaten the same meals over and over again! Make a reservation though!
