the real deal

So you think that you don't like german food or frankfurt food, you will be surprised. the food here was first rate. The fish was great as was the spaetzel. No kidding though , you need a reservation!!! especially if you are going to eat after 7pm. Sit outside if weather permits.

I really love this place. The food was delicious. I hadn't found a place before where I really enjoyed the food in Frankfurt, but this is one of them. The price is not bad either. Next time I am in town I'll go there. Try to make a reservation first. It helps a lot to ensure you have a place.... More

A good German diner. We were very happy with our pork knuckle and schnitzel and a few beers. Service was good. Place was busy for a Tuesday night. Warning: cash only.

If you want to taste the tipical German main courses go there! The food is super fresh and tasty. The beer is great and the beer garden outside is a good place to stay with family and friends. Highly recommended!

Went to this restaurant on the first Saturday night of May 2015 fulfilling dinner invitation from my Indonesian friend who lives in Frankfurt for so long time but haven't visited this place yet. My friend founs this place through Trip Advisor suggestion for German food and quite courious seeing the reviewer rate for this resto. Been there at about 7.30pm... More

We had no idea what the restaurant was like when we wandered in, it was a hive of activity. We were told at first that they were full, but then he managed to squeeze us in. The onion soup is delicious, would definitely recommend this. I had Schnitzel and my husband the pork knuckle. Both were cooked to perfection. I... More

We got into Atschel terrace in a May evening. We didn't have reservation, so we stayed outside, on the terrace. We had a lot of tasty food and specific apple wine. The personnel was nice and happy to guide us through the menu's local specialties. We had a nice time and our kid enjoyed it as well.

I was served really excellent grilled pork knuckle with sauerkraut, salad and bread! The pork knuckle was very tender and had a nice crispy skin. The apfelwein went nicely with the meal. Reasonable price at just under 11€ (including VAT). It was a little wait until I got my meal but well worth it. I went just before 3pm on... More

A good and great place to go if you want to eat German food for a very reasonable price. Don't forget to book in advance if you want a table and don't be scarred but you will be probably not alone at the table.as the table are quite big it is usual to share them...

We absolutely loved our meal here & it deserves its rating! We didn't reserve a table, but got in just fine. They had the special spargel menu (in season), and it was perfect. The pig knuckle and pork schnitzel were both delicious. We enjoyed crepes with cherry filling for dessert - it came with a heavenly vanilla ice cream! My... More
