Great food, off the beaten path

We ended here after a long walk through Frankfurt. The place is very casual, with long benches and friendly staff. Some customers were sharing tables with others. Their menu has all the classics (bratwurst, shnitzel with spatzle, chops, potato salad - must try the green sauce, their specialty) and... read more

I took my family out for a meal at Atschel this saturday. Living in Frankfurt myself I wanted to eat in a traditional German restaurant. Unfortunately, the service was really disappointing. We first had to wait for 20min before (After I asked) a waiter came to the table. Also for new drinks we had to ask ourselves all the time..... More

Worst expérience i had in a restaurant, too much noise its like everybody inside scream. Bad reception worker aren't that friendly, you are served by every single one,you make your order to one waiter an then other one come ask what you want, bad bad organisation. And the worst is asking 2 sausage plates, the first take 10min to serve... More

What a great place. Very friendly atmosphere with communal dining. Food was awesome and the service was good. We are here on a Friday and it is packed. They take reservations. The Bimbel is a must.

For me the Atschel is the best of all Äppelwoikneipen in Frankfurt. The food is excellent, the Äppler good as everywhere else, the prices are fair and the stuff is nicer than in most of the other places. I like the atmosphere. It is less touristic than many of the famous others like Apfelwein Wagner or Zum gemahlten Haus. Come... More

cool and traditional Äppelwoi Restaurant in the middle of Sachsenhausen. They have a nice garden in the summer and rustic and nice furniture. strongly recommend the green sauce dishes. Not packed with tourists like Zum Gemalten Haus or Wagner

The waiter was very friendly to help us choose the least expensive way (e.g combo lunch plate) for what we want to order. Each plate costs less than €5 which is unbelievable price in Frankfurt. The salad was fresh and very good. The sausage plate and the pork steak are fantastic. It's too bad that we were too full to... More

One of the better beer gardens in Frankfurt. Provides a look at how the locals enjoy their food and drink. Menu is simple, does not cater to tourists although you can have green sauce and apple wine if you wish. A pleasant way to spend time with friends over dinner.

Great traditional food and athmosphere! For one-to-one conversations sometimes a bit too noisy but thats part of the "Apfelwein" experience.
