The Ratskeller is in the city center of Darmstadt. You can sit outside or inside. It has two floors inside, with the top floor a bit more formal. There is a salad bar inside, which is Okay, but nothing really special. The menu items I've had are all excellent. The fried pork is typical German, but cooked to perfection. The... More

Good beer and outdoor seating in summer but that's all. Food variety is very limited, service is a bit annoying (continuosly pushing to drink beers) and the place is usually very crowded.

If you are in Darmstadt and love beer, then this is a must visit place. Pros- Good quality freshly brewed beer is served. Best place to sit down and enjoy the beer is on the tables and benches laid outside. Spring, Summer & Autumn are the best times to sit outside and enjoy the various types of beer available. Cons-... A typical German brew pub. The beer is decent, the outdoor seating is great in summer, and the service is about par for the course. If you want to stay on after a couple of beers, then you could eat the sausages and the schweinshaxe. Good spot for a group.

On Marktplatz in the centre of Darmstadt with great beer no better place on a warm day. Sit outside enjoy watching the world go by and savour the unfiltered pils.

Had dinner here during an exchange program. Service is slow. Food is ok, nothing special, rather crude. Good salad bar though. Food is cooked well, but I'm sure there's better food about.

Authentic experience. Eat on the square in summer or inside for better service. Upstairs usually has a salad bar, which is just about the only way you are going to get any green in this place. The food and beer are awesome.

Bratwurst, wienershnizel, pretzel, spätzle and of course good beer you can find all in this typical german restaurant. The best thing is that brat, pretzel and spatzle were the best i ever eaten in Germany therefore this is the perfect place to try local specialties

This pub is placed in Marktplatz, where you can feel the atmosphere of a German town, with glasses of beers, typical buildings, and people walking around. I took some potato soup and a Wiener schnitzel. The food is not that bad, and it is nice to sit there in a pleasant June evening, but there is nothing special to remember... More

This is truly a place with gemutlichkeit! The bar is certainly boisterous, but the restaurant part is calm. Lots of outdoor seating on the marketplace. Traditional German food, but some items have a slight culinary twist. Some excellent vegetarian options, like sliced dumplings in a delicious mushroom sauce. Salad bar available as well. The spaetzle is definitely homemade! I would... More
