Had the veggie burger, but it was dry and only with one tomato slice and one salat leaf. the potato fries were only frozen ones. for that price i wouldn’t recommend. the ambience was nice though.

The visit startet very good, nice service and nice environment, but after the first beer we noticed that two out of six of us got paint on our clothes. We told this to the staff, that seemed puzzled and careless and laughed at us. We...showed the wet paint on the bench and table before the would believe us, and told us that the paint was dry on top, only wet underneath, thus if we had paint on us, it was our own fault. After 20 minutes of discussion we got a very small refund for the ruined clothes, and got told to pay the bill and go, even though we just ordered two new cans. After this the manager came and showed us how you sit properly on a bench, that only children have their legs tugged under themselves. One from the staff told us that the bench and table was painted today, while the manager told us it was painted two days ago, while laughing about the situation. We felt very used as tourist, and very much made fun of for complaining about getting paint on our clothes, as it was our own fault for not sitting properly. We will not be coming back.More
Me and my friends went to visit this place to have a good time. It started out really good, but the staff had just painted their tables and benches the same day. That resulted in 2 people getting paint on their shorts. When we confronted...the staff they were very rude and told us that is was our fault. One guy even told my friend that he was sitting like a child. After a lot of arguing they finally gave agreed to a small compensation, but then asked us to leave!? We had just ordered another round of beer!? Worst service in the world!!!More
Started out with great beers, however they put out freshly painted benches for us to sit on so our clothes got completely ruined. When we told the staff about this issue they told us it was our own fault, that the benches were “dry on...top” and that we were “Klein kinderen” (small children) for sitting with our legs touching the bottom side of the benches 😂 absolutely ridiculous haha They offered one of our friends 20€ compensation and said we should leave (we made no scene, one friend just took a mild discussion up with them at the counter)More
It’s a cosy restaurant with delicious food and affordable price. I ordered a cheeseburger but the portion was too big for me to finish. Staff was nice and helpful. Also they were careful about Covid measures.
Nice café that serves good German food. The schnitzel and baked potato were very good, big portions. Outdoor seating.
Good location, friendly service and a lovely breakfast. Highly recommend the full English. Nice place to sit and watch the world go by
I just love this Place, what can I say, good food lovely atmosphere in the middle of the schanze which is the coolest neighborhood in Hamburg cheap prices and huge tasty dishes,we went there a few times and everytime the staff was also very nice...and friendly.we went the first time for breakfast and returned the same day for a beer in the evening the vibes changes so much, from a calm relaxing place it turns to a bar with good music and young vibes 👍👍👍More
Ordered Bacon schnitzel and jacked potato with sour cream. Great portions and OK+ food. Seems to be good value for this area. The waiters was a bit inattentiv for times. TV's with football game and low music in the background, nice atmosphere
Another well-attended local Bar/Restaurant. Hearty food. Good Value. A good place to come solo or in a group. Patronised by a wide range of ages, with live football showing on two large screens. I ordered the Champignon Rahm Schitzel (Schnitzel with a Mushroom Cream Sauce)...with Bratkartoffeln (Fried Potatoes) which came accompanied by a small side salad and bread. It was a large portion, and the sauce was yummy. All washed down with a 0.5l Krombacher Weisbier (Wheat Beer). Thoroughly enjoyed! A very filling and tasty meal at a reasonable price.More
So the food is ok. Really nothing to go home and talk about. It doesn’t take long to be served.... the hired help however is a different story: a young blonde lady wearing shorts and a skater cap apparently is in charge of receiving costumers.......next to us german speaking clients. She was nice and friendly to them always checking if everything was ok. To us, she was impatient, rude and couldn’t care less for our comfort. We believe that due to the fact that we were not able to express in a way that’s he was confortable with. A restaurant is made of caring people. Avoid this place! Or get rid of skater girl.More
I really recommend to enjoy their breakfast for two. In a price of 14,90€ you become a wide selection of cheese, ham, boiled eggs, potato cakes, fruits, honey, marmalade, Nutella, buns, croissants, orange juice, Prosecco and coffee refill - everything x 2. The quality of...food is average but for this price it’s fine. Typical German vibe, very friendly staff and good prices.More
If you want good German Bavarian food with monster sized portions and a warm atmosphere, this is the place for you! It’s not fancy, you’ll be fine wearing jeans, but you will love the food. We started with drinks. I ordered a pint of Lowenbreau...(5 euro) and a shot of locally made schnapps (only 2.50 euro) to start. The Mrs stuck to ginger ale. I my wife ordered the Wiener schnitzel(25 euro). They gladly substituted spaetzle for fried potatoes. It came with a salad tossed on a light vinaigrette. Everything was delicious! And the portions were huge! I got a sausage sampler platter with four different kinds of sausage, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes (16 euro). The sausage was great. And the mashed potatoes were probably the best I’ve ever tasted! Again the portion was so large I couldn’t finish. And I came hungry! Menus are in German with English subtitles. The three employees I interacted with all spoke passable English too! That much being said, this is a local restaurant, not a tourist trap. We were the only tourists in the place except for one Russian couple.More
Love coming to this place when I'm in Hamburg. Traditional north German cuisine and always great service.
We popped in for a quick drink and were greeted warmly and shown to a table. Waitress was over quickly, drinks ordered, friendly and good value. Didn’t eat
