Wine bottles as far as the eye can see. The Kleines Jacob is more than just an offshoot of the top restaurant that lies opposite! The amount served was a bit off putting!

We ate here on our recent trip to Hamburg .We really enjoyed our starters,a mezze 10 small dishes, each one very tasty. The main course was a selection of prawns, chicken.lamb and beef served with rice. This was a bit too much. Next time I will go for a main course such as a prawn dish. Overall... read more

Dinner at Jacobs Restaurant is a genuinely wonderful experience. The setting is calm with water views, the staff are fantastically professional without being remote, and the food is simply outstanding. What does this mean in practice? Well, when ordering the staff can guide you in detail through the range of options (and note that while there are 'set' menus you... More

I go quite often to this restaurant and I'm always amazed by the food served there. The atmosphere is really warm, you can see the chief and his staff cooking and the service are nice and friendly.

This cafe / restaurant at Hamburgs Elbe is one of the oldest and most renowned in Hamburg (robert Redford got married here). It is about 25mins drive from Hamburgs city center near the very high end suburb of Blankenese. The view is fantastic. If you sit outside you look right on the Elbe river and see all the container boats.... More

This is the perfect place in Hamburg: an old traditional restaurant overlooking "die Elbe" - the big river in Hamburg. Thomas Martin is the chef at this 2-star Michelin restaurant. We started in the kitchen in the basement and Thomas Martin himself introduced us to the kitchen and it's function. Started with at glass of champagne in the kitchen and... More

This restaurant definitely lives up to its 2-Michelin stars! We ordered A-la-carte and we got a taste of different dishes. The dessert tray was to-die-for as well. Service was amazing. That being said, we've tried other 1-Michelin starred restaurants around Europe which were just as tasty and a bit cheaper.

Even though it has taken me over a year to post this review, I just wanted to say how much my husband and I enjoyed our meal at Jacob. We especially loved the pre-dessert which we jokingly said we could eat another, no sooner another appeared. The service was faultless and the food amazing, the best meal we have eaten... More

This was a meal for a special occasion. The service was absolutely perfect with advice on wines to accompany the food. The food was beautiful, presented very professionally with flavours to die for. We had the established menu but were able to mix and match with the other menus if we wished. There wasn't anything that we disliked, we will... More

For my birthday I wanted the absolute best. We are not from Hamburg, so I asked around and people said: "well, if you can get a reservation, definitely Jacob"... My husband called to beg, but they were full, but took our name down. LUCKILY they had a cancellation! Bingo! We arrived on time and were the first people at the... More
