Wine bottles as far as the eye can see. The Kleines Jacob is more than just an offshoot of the top restaurant that lies opposite! The restaurant has an open-view kitchen with a stone oven, producing exquisite food, such as Flammkuchen. The staff are exceptionally friendly and give you all the time you need to enjoy your meal. Admire the walls which are decorated in cork and art work or sit and enjoy a cigarette in the large smokers' area. The restaurant is popular with hotel guests and anyone out walking along the banks of the river Elbe in Blankenese. The restaurant also offers a selection of European wine.

Recommend the chef's tasting menu as the flavors are perfectly composed on each course; the accompanying wine pairings were excellent -- kudos to the sommelier!

The view in summer is charming and the room is classically attractive but actually quite cold and impersonal to sit in. The service is good, if a bit stiff, but the food really lets the place down. As is normal in Michelin starred restaurants, you are forced to have a menu, and while the quality of the food sourced was... More

This was a fabulous experience. The restaurant and the view was fantastic. The waiters were very professional and friendly - a very good combination. The food and the wine menu were second to none.

We booked Jacobs without knowing about its Stars and booked a tasting menu with accompanying wines. From the get-go the meal was a roaring success with all 4 of us. Jacobs is in Louis Jacob, an old school hotel and restaurant where nothing is too much trouble. We ate our way through 10 courses, 3 of which were deserts and... More

Coming from the homeland of Michellin star Restaurant "Noma" in Copenhagen, I knew it would be difficult to blow me away and It didn't but the dinner was extremely nice and tasty and the duck bering served twice and in 2 different ways was wonderful and juicy. The presentation and the decoration of the food was very nice and we... More

I've been waiting a while to write this review so I can have a long hard think about our so-called 2-star experience. Giving only a couple of examples: The lobster tail in the Thai inspired soup was chewy for almost all of us. I pointed this out to a waiter and he looked gob-smacked and judging by his silence and... We only spent time here for breakfast, but enjoyed the best breakfast buffet ever: Huge choice of food all homemade + your choice of egg dishes with Hamburg specialities. Did I forget to mention that sparkling wine is of course a free option!!!!! The restaurant room is outstanding with beautiful decor and huge bouquets of fresh flowers. The service oustanding... I was really surprised how good this restaurant was. I have been to a number of Michelin restaurant, and this 2-star restaurant really know how to make maximum experience for their guests. The food and wine-pairing was so good that I wouldn't changed anything. The only small detail was the language to one of the staff, that made him not... More

We were in the mood to be pampered this evening and Jacob's did not disappoint. It is a very elegant restaurant with a view of the Elbe. The food was finely prepared with the type of presentation you would expect from a fine restaurant. The staff seemed to sense our every move, not disturbing us as we enjoyed our meal... More
