Despite having made a reservation, we were not properly allocated a table and were instead asked to share a small table with a couple who were passionately holding hands staring at each other while waiting for their dinner to be served. Not wanting to interrupt, we requested another table, but were asked to wait at least another half an hour.... More

Good place for dinner in Hamburg. Huge portions of food, good quality. If you like potatoes is one of the best place. We will come back.

There is a potatoe theme but this is anything but vegetarian. The grilled plate featured 3 pork steaks in different styles, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and fried potatoes. It is excellent value for a casual night out. Staff were very friendly and there is an English menu.

It is great what you can do with potatoes. I went with my friend who is gluten intolerant and she loved it as she could eat everything from the menu. We had the spinach and potato gratin which was amazing and also cold roast beef with potato fritters. Service was very friendly and it is good value for money. We... More

Good beer, good food, good price, good service. Ask the hotel to book a table it's likely to be full since its well visited. 8 dishes where saved at the same time. Chef must have been doing some good planning to be able to do that. Enjoyed this dinner.

The Kartoffelkeller is at the historical Deichstrasse. The crew are dressed in a potatoe bag and the dishes were related. Food was great and prices really reasonable. Although the restaurant was full I could get a place which was reservated for one hour later. Very helpfull

Four of us thoroughly enjoyed the food and the ambience. Good staff, good value and enough of the German experience, yet different and fun. Romantic setting for a couple. Very much the candlelight experience. A great cosy winter venue. Happy customers.

It was a nice experience. Old style keller, old furniture, but everything looks very nice. Meals are good and big. Tasty. But it's difficult to see what do you eat exactly - almost no light. one candle per table is not enought.

The place is located in a keller (basement), very traditional with low lights. The personnel wears potato bags and is happy to guide you through the menu. One might think that the choice is limited, yet it is totally wrong. The choice of different dishes is very high, potato is the queen. But would definitely reccomend it...Price is fair, no... More
