Nice experience!

First, I should say that I was given a very warm welcome at the restaurant in the outskirts of Hamburg. The settings are very nice, like a country house. But, not everything is perfect here. I choose the classic menu, one of the two menus a availalble, and it was good. I should say that the fish... read more

It is hard to imagine to find a better high end restaurant in Hamburg which offers it all: outstanding, highly awarded kitchen, extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff, beautiful, organic boutique wines and the privacy and relaxed atmosphere for a productive business dinner. The food is simply outstanding: Highly creative combinations of fresh, organic ingredients, delivering taste experiences which make... More

I was looking for a good restaurant with a German or even Hamburg-touch. Foodwise it was fancy and very tasty, but neither traditional nor German. It was a mixture of European food with a lot and to my taste too many different tasting small "Happen" on one platter. The old style at the entrance - every guest is personally welcomed... More

The décor needs very urgent attention to attract wealthy young folk (like us- he he). Otherwise the place will slowly die. It's just old, worn and granny- style. It sure has seen the best of times. It is neither elegant, chic, sophisticated, welcoming nor cosy. Staff was mostly knowledgeable and friendly throughout. The food was traditionally unfussy and very delicious.... More

This place is old school, I usually prefer more modern decor but this place is very traditional, in terms of decor, food and service. I hosted a dinner for 50 people here and it was faultless with everybody commenting on the exceptional food. We had a set menu which included the duck, something they are famous for. Highly recommended.

Hamburg has many good restaurants, but if you are up for "north german food", this place is a great choice! I grew up in that area and this place is how you can define "traditional Hamburg". A place were Hamburg merchants always met for dinner. When we were visiting it had two set menus to chose from, but you can... More

The food they serve is tantalizing the tastebudes :-)) But the restrooms should have higher toiletseats for the older clientel (who got the money to pay for the dining experience) and a handbar mounted to the wall so you can pull yourself up...

Everything about this place is amazing - the quality of the food (PLEASE try the duck!!), the accompanying Austrian wines and of course the outstanding service. A night to remember!! Thank you

A little hut -- formerly a well-appointed turn-of-the-century public lavatory -- and surrounding courtyard that gets its food from the same kitchen as the much pricier Michelin-starred restaurant next door but concentrates on simple homely favourites. They include the best fried sausages, mash and creamy kale you ever had. Portions are huge, prices reasonable, and everything is delicious. Staff are... More
