We went there at lunch, not a soul in sight, so we decided to look for something else. About an hour later we went back, very slim pickings in that area, and decided to give it a try. I ordered the crab/shrimp soup that was edible, it came with dry bread. When I asked for a bit of butter, I... More

After managing to persuade the boys to have fish for lunch and being close to the fish market, I felt sure this was going to be the place with great seafaring credentials and food.....very disappointed. The location could not be better - right down on the seafront at the docks and the old fish market. The food was bland and... More

Good: location, service, garage Bad: food. A quite shabby place with old furniture. I cannot say that it was uncomfortable there, but comfortable neither. The soup was horrible, don´t order soup! And the fish plate was not so delicious, as it should be in a good port city. If you like too fat food, you might like this restaurant. Otherwise... More

Dinner last night with friends. The server was pleasant but not very skilled. Highlight was the eel soup. Salad was decent. My dinner was blah. Dover Sole was a winner. Although we were on the water the fish was pretty bland. No one in my party would return.

Accustomed to eating the fish of the Ionian sea that dances still in the pot, I was forced by his friends to have this experience with the fish of the north sea. The evening was positive for both the local and the fish plentiful and tasty as can be that of the north sea. Television we would have done without... More

We just called in on the off chance. It was Friday evening we went to the upstairs restaurant after discussing where to eat with the waiter downstairs, he suggested we would like the view from upstairs. There were no coach tours whilst we were there. We chose the fish platter (no persuasion as some other reviewers have mentioned) we asked... More

On Hamburg's waterfront there are dozens of restaurants and it is difficult to chose. Fischerhouse is a large establishment which caters to larger parties of tourists. The menu has a great list of fish dishes and the one's we tried were prepared well. BUT the service is less than attentive....after all, they cater to large groups, who are unlikely to... More

We visited this restaurant 1130h Saturday morning and the restaurant was not open officially. However, they welcomed to guide us to the upper floor and recommended us delicious fish plates. My friend ordered some fried fishes dish and I ordered boiled fishes dish. Both very good taste with lightly seasoned and we enjoyed dishes almost 90 minutes with beer and... More
