The philosophy and the aspiration of the Slowman, is of enjoyment and the pleasure of natural, freshly prepared food: traditional, yet innovative. The Slowman makes a point of giving young people a new chance. Regardless of your experience or CV, there is a possibility to train as a chef or a waitress / waiter. Trainees are guided and motivated by star chef, Christian Rach, who takes these unemployed people under his wing. The menu offers a small, yet ever changing choice of dishes. You can opt for either a large or small portion. You will have a choice of dishes such as spicy beef curry, Slowman-Schnitzel with potato and cucumber salad, Thai chicken soup with coriander, Slowman's apple tart and light as air vanilla pudding with fruit of the season. The slowman restaurant is located at the hotel Reichsof Hamburg Curio Collection by Hiton.

We spent the saturday evening dinner there with local live music. The saturday menu (4 courses) was very delicious, very fresh and local! Service stuff was exceptionally friendly; location ist quite funny since it is over several floors.

Slowman in Hamburg uses good quality ingredients to prepare its dishes. For dinner there are fixed three course menus for €35,- (you can add a fourth). Veggies can also have dinner here, but there will be no tofu or cheese or soy replacement for meat. So it is all vegetables, well prepared, but in I my opnion a bit too... More

On a Saturday night there is a fixed 4 courses menu (with choice btw fish or meat for main course). The starter was uninspired sushi rolls with a very tasty little soup. Then followed a nice but slightly overcooked ravioli with mushrooms. For the main course we had both chosen the meat (pork fillet) which was very overcooked and dry... More

We went on a wednesday, got there at about 9h30 pm, we were told this was the lastest we could get there for dinner. The only option was to have the special menu, so we chose tomato salad, mushroom ravioli and fish plate. All of them were very tasty. Would go back again!

We chose to eat here due to the ethos of developing young people, and enjoyed the service and the ambience of the restaurant. The food didn't quite match up to the reviews we had read, perhaps we hit an off night for the kitchen.....

Found this lovely restaurant by accident in the fantastic Chile Haus building. Being from Wales we knew nothing of Slowman in Germany. We were welcomed and well looked after. This food was beautifully prepared and served. Only criticism would be price of bottles of wine on the menu. 39 Euro as cheapest with a competitively priced menu. That's too high.
