The Schiffer Borse has an impressive interior and cuisine to match. We had the salmon dish from the specials board and it was beautifully cooked and served. The whole dining experience was quality with attentive service from our waiter. Did not expect such high quality and don't be put off by the location across from the main train station Will... More

This restaurant is excisting since decades. This is something special and has some reasons. It is located opposite central station. Hotels are excisting in the neihgbourhood. City center is just some hundreds meters away. The ambience in this restaurant has a maritime character. The service was good friendly and attentive. I have ordered a mixed cold fishplate with fresh haring,... More

Our group dined on jager schnitzel, matjes hausfrau, and labskaus. With a few Holsten Pilseners and some rote grutze, the bill for three people to stuff themselves was less than €60. I very much enjoyed the maritime theme. Models of ships and artwork depicting various sea scenes complimented the wood furniture to simulate being on an old world ship. The... More

Right across from the main train station, a place to enjoy a tasty fish dish. I recommend to adventure yourself into trying the labskaus, I for one loved it, strangely unique! for those of us with a less adventurous spirit, the fried fish, the tiny nordsee prawns or something along those lines

When I say best of three restaurants we tried on Kirchenallee (immediately opposite Hauptbahnhof) I should say they were all good and also that Schiffer Borse was the most expensive of the three, but for the very good reason that my husband had Dover sole (35 euros) and we had a top-price bottle of French chardonnay (also 35 euros). Just... More

This restaurant is a typical german place with a great space and thats why we went in. The service was ok and the food was fair, but we ate at better places to be honest. Not bad, and good servings but the food could be better.

Hi we had dinner in this restaurant on the two nights we where in Hamburg. The decor was great and the food was very good. It was worth going just to meet Mario the waiter with his brilliant moustache.

Despite what some other reviews mat state there is a good choice of both meat and fish dishes here. The decor is distinctive which you either like or loath - we like it and it seems to fit in well with the traditional german service that you get here. We have no complaints about the portion size or the quality... More

I went there for a late lunch - pretty amazed by their interior design. Food isn't as astonishing as the design of restaurant though.
