Was standing outside looking at the menu, and a guest leaving advised that it was a great restaurant, so we went in. It turns out to be the best fish dish i've ever eaten. The service was excellent, and the food was so delicious. Definitely worth a visit if you are near central station, and the atmosphere was excellent too.... More

This is the place to go for great seafood. We dined outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed a leisurely dinner with great beer.

There is a lot of atmosphere inside with the old sailing boat theme and some impressive model ships! The woodwork is very ornate for a city centre restaurant. The menu had a good selection and the seafood was particularly good. We had a fish sharing platter to start and a fish medley for mains. Good attentive service. Not cheap, but... More

The room with its maritime decorations is impressive and rather nice (with good acoustics) - and the food is okay but a bit "unusual". E.g. I had small, cold North Sea shrimps (called "Krabben" in the German menu) with roasted potato slices - not a combination that will win them any gastronomic prizes - but the quality of the ingredients... If you need a quick german lunch after a long train ride this place is ok. Just in front of train station it is very kitsch inside, and the food is pretty basic but ok. Nothing special. Service is not nice. So of you are not in a run to catch a train, you'd better take some time and look... More

along with correspondingly well-potable local beer. Don't expect culinary revelations, but during my two evenings there in April, I was well-satisfied with the seasonal fish dishes--including really good roast potatoes--, and my carnivore companion did not complain either. In short: neither is the sail-boat decoration at all oppressive--rather conventional in a good sense--nor is the food in the slightest dishonest.... More

Schifferbörse used to be the place to eat in Hamburg, but when they moved to serving healthier food, the quality suffered. The best food there used to he Schifferbörsetopf, but no more use they butter in it and they added turkey meat in it. Just not the same. Wiener schnitzel is still good.

This restaurant is set oubut lovely apfelstrudel. Good wine list.t as an 18th Century eating house in a building dating back a number of centuries. The food is excellent, well prepared and beautifully presented. If ordering the steak, if you do not want it medium rare then tell the waiter as they do not ask. I would recommend that you... More

By pure chance this restaurant was next to our hotel, it was a cold night so we checked the minuend went in. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly and efficient service and terrific food, so good we went back the following night. Amazingly interesting decor with a kind of nautical theme.
