Fancy restaurant - but very plain underneath

The look and location is very nice and the interior signals class. The food and service was rather mediocre and really just your average compared to many other restaurants.

Appalling evening, so bad we left before the food arrived. The service was abysmal. We arrived to a relatively quiet restaurant, seated at a nice table but then left unattended for a while before ordering drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine which the waiter took away but didn't bother to check for refills until prompted. The waitress who took... More

Found this looking for a restaurant near the Casino - it's in the same building. I think we confused them a little turning up without a reservation but they made us very welcome. Food was excellent, pricey but worth it. Wine was great and the service was great. Recommend it if you are looking for a more upmarket restaurant.

Parties of four managed to order, have their meals and leave before we received our main course. We even arrived before them. The food was nothing special. I do not recommend this restaurant in the slightest. Very expensive and definitely not worth it.

We started with 2 soups which were great....we ordered paella, vitello and wrapped lamb with salat...from which paella and the lamb were fine whereas the salad and the vitello was dissapointing...along with 2 glasses of wine (you have to be specifc whether you want 0.1 or 0.2L) and some water (8.9 eur!!!! per bottle which even in Denmark is way... We visit Hamburg every summer for 5 days and try and eat at Tarantella at least 3 of those nights. It is one of only 3 restaurants in Hamburg where you can have the iconic North German fish called Seezunge. They bring it with traditional german potatoes and cucumber salad. The food is internationally focused with a strong focus on... More

We had the Best new years evening of all times! We were 10 friends who were in Hamburg to celebrate new years, and we had reserved a table here at tarantella. We Got to sit in the Wine cellar and it was absolutely incredible. Everything was fantastic, the food, location and the setup. Big thumbs up from us :-)

Visited Tarantella in April 2013 with some colleagues and the ambience and atmosphere of this place is nice and pleasant. The wine was great, and the meat excellent. Nothing bad to mention, only good critique to a place that could easily be measured against the finest dining places in Hamburg.

We walked into a stunningly beautiful restaurant for dinner. We are impressed by the high ceiling, the colours and the decor inside the restaurant with numerous wine bottles of different sizes, bathed in soft yellow and orange coloured lights against the wall.I like the black uniforms of the waitresses with their long aprons, and their their orange coloured ties; looking...
