We enjoyed our food at this restaurant, but the service was very slow. Because of that, we are not sure we would ever go back were we in Hamburg again.

We ate here on our first evening in Hamburg and were not disappointed. Good food in a nice atmosphere served by a really charming and cheerful waitress. I would certainly come back again next time. Well done!

Just delicious. I recommend the beef roll or the schnitzel (the "small" portion is huge as others have mentioned.) reasonable prices for home cooked, delicious food.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our friends parents who live in hamburg This is definitely a locals type restaurant The staff could not have been friendlier and more helpful We had a bottle of white wine All prices were very reasonable We started off with the smoked salmon and potato pancake appetizer- filling and delicious and a small... ...typical German Cuisine (it's a compliment)... Very nice and efficient waitresses. In a very cosy cellar with maritime atmosphere; also possibility to have lunches and dinners outside.

if you want to have a real Hamburger Dinner, that is the place to go to. You find all those specialties of the NORTH and they are prepared in a very authentic way.....exactly like my grandma did !

Warm surroundings that are a cross between an upmarket pub and a restaurant. Local dishes and Jever Pilsener beer make for a great lunch or dinner in warm convivial surroundings.

Excellent range of well cooked German dishes. Herring a speciality, as you might expect, and a range of ways of serving them offered. The potato onion and bacon side dish is to die for. Service good and friendly, with some English spoken and English menus available if you ask. And not surprisingly, the restaurant is incredibly popular with the locals.... More

The restaurant was cosy, service attentive and super fast even though it was busy. The schnitzel came with fried potatoes which I declined, but they added a delicious portion of ceps instead, with the cucumber salad. The small portion was massive! l will return next time I'm in hamburg.

We went with a group of people and ate at their outside tables. Service was extremely slow, but they were pretty busy - but our waitress seemed to be less visible than others around us. The food was excellent and the portions were fairly big. Hubby had the Hanseatntopf which had 3 German sausages with vegetables, cucumber salad and we... More
