Walking in to the restaurant, guests are greeted by the owner as though arriving at his home. It feels like sitting in a beautiful dining room in a home, rather than in a restaurant. The menu is set (choose one for 55 euros, with dessert, or 45 euros, without dessert) with several choices available for each course. Incredible preparation, delicious...

Being frequent visitors to Berlin we went to Heising for a Saturday night dinner in January 2015 because of its longstanding position on Tripadvisor as the most popular restaurant in the city. It is nowhere near the top of Berlin restaurants! The food was average, the ambience touristy and the price/quality ratio very unsatisfactory compared to Berlin restaurants overall.

This is an amazing restaurant! It all began with my dinner group (of four) standing outside what looked like a residential building, ringing what seemed to be a service bell! The only thing that made us confident it was the right place is the fact that the name was above window and there seemed to be tables inside. After about... More

When comparing my experience with other reviewers I think what makes this place fantastic is the atmosphere and the overall experience. The staff are quite nice and they made us feel very welcome. You will definitely need a reservation and if you have none you won' t be allowed to get in (you will have to ring for someone to... More

This restaurant was selected as my birthday treat. As it was #1 on TripAdvisor reviews and within easy reach of our hotel, we were delighted to secure a table, booking c. 10 days before we traveled. On arrival we found that we had to press a bell outside and wait to be greeted by Mrs Heising herself. Her initial formal... More

I booked this restaurant because of the superb reviews and was really looking forward to the food. On arrival we were greeted well, however once seated our evening went downhill. This is a family run business and they clearly pride their business and restaurant however this is not a relaxed environment so if you're looking for something less on the... More

reflecting the experience of other reviewers this place is all about the atmosphere and the overall experience. The staff (mother and daughter) were very friendly and we were made to feel very welcome even though our reservation was pretty last minute. You will need a reservation - just to get through the front door (you will understand when you go!).... More

The restaurant is set in a early 1900's style. We rang the doorbell to enter and were warmly greated by the hostess who took our coates and put them in the wardrobe (just like great-aunt Mable would have done). She then showed us to our table in what looked like an old fashioned dining/drawing room with beautiful wooden intarsia laid... More

The food was wonderful, with excellent choices. The service is warm and friendly, and the dining rooms are just like dining at your grandmother's house - in the fancy dining room on her good china though. Really a lovely place, and the ladies who took care of us were just the best. They only take cash, so make sure you... More

This very traditional Parisian restaurant is set in an incongruously modern looking building in Berlin. It's quite surprising when a traditional looking Paris restaurant is revealed on entering. The service was excellent and very friendly from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent with a good selection of wines. Overall quite unexpected but a very nice surprise.
