To enter, you ring the bell and wait for the kindly elderly gentlemen owner to greet and seat you. The tables are all very old polished wood furniture and the atmosphere is very old world elegant, dark wood, crystal, candles, art, etc. Because the tables are probably an inch or two taller than usual, we were discretely offered seat cushions... I visited Heising with a group of colleagues for an evening meal during a business trip to Berlin...I was a little unsure at first because I had never been a huge fan of French food in the past but the evening I spent here changed my mind :) The food hightlight was the lamb which was really really delicious. There... More

Me and my girlfriend was greeted in the door by mr Hesing. We ate a 3 course meal with wine and was very pleased. Old wood panels and good service by the old couple Heising and their daughter. My girlfriend received a rose from mr Heising when leaving. Made our trip to Berlin very memorable.

Excellent food in charming surroundings - old fashioned elegance with a homely feel. We thought the atmosphere might be a bit stuffy and formal when we first arrived but we soon relaxed and enjoyed a delicious meal from the limited but carefully chosen set menu. Not particularly cheap but very good value for the quality. Highly recommended.

This is one of the most exquisite and charming restaurants I've had the privilege to dine at. The interiors are wonderfully cosy and intimate (besides us, there were only four other parties). The food is delicious and beautifully prepared. The service is unhurried and very elegant. This is a family run establishment and its lovely to witness the pride &... More

We booked a table of 8 for a group of friends visiting Berlin. The restaurant is family run father, mother and daughter, extremely welcoming, sharp witted and accommodating. The set menu was out of this world. Amazing starters, awesome mains coupled with a perfect selection of red wines. If your in Berlin be sure to pay this place a visit!

You have to book and turn up on time, you'll also find the door is locked so ring the bell(only once). Run by mr &mrs Heising and their daughter. You would never have dined in such a place, the food and service is very good, and run for the last 36 years by the heisings. Wines are a bit on... More

We dined here during a 3-night stay in Berlin as a treat for my wife's 60th birthday. What a joy! Food and wine simply superb. A very small but cosy and welcoming restaurant and a lot of old fashioned courtesy and grandeur. All in all, a delicious evening in a lovely surrounding.

The atmosphere is fantastic; it is like stepping into your grandparents (oversized) dining room. Plates with gold rim and mahogany furniture. Mr and Mrs Heising and their daughters each greet you personally and ensure you are fully taken care of. The food is excellent. Approximate 300 euro for 4 people, 3 course menu with wine.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighborhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighborhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theaters close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
