Enjoyable in an old school atmosphere

We had a very pleasant meal in a restaurant with an old school feeling. The food was fresh and quite tasty. The place is located a couple blocks from the Brandenburg Gate so it's easy to find. Certainly worth visiting.

I went for a quick dinner by myself. The food was good enough and the service was below average. I ordered the beef tartar as a main course (but they brought the starter size) and a drink (which took 10 minutes to arrive - they passed it off with " good things come to those who wait", but they actually... Posh restaurant at Unter Den Linden in Berlin Good fish and satisfying wine lists Service is ok. Good compromise between nice food and price, if you drink good wine you will pay over the average.

I was disappointed because I expected elegant dinner dining. You can sit either outside under an umbrella or inside. The food was good and they serve large portions. My wife ordered schnitzel which was large enough for both of us. however, she did not feel it was a great dish. Our waitress was very aloof and not very helpful when... More

Had a light business lunch here. Some salads. They were fresh and tasty. Place can get a little crowdy. But it's a nice place to sit and do some people watching. We walked in around noon and there were still many tables. 40 min later it seemed to be more or less full. So go on time or book a... More

Just arriving in town we popped in and enjoyed great service and a wonderful light lunch. Soup and salad with wonderful German bread and a night breeze to boot.

To be honest we think the owner might have fired the waitress between courses. I think she actually just forgot we were inside. The manager had to take our orders twice as our waitress did not reappear after mains were delivered. Food was great we had the rump streak with special sauce and the wiener schintzels. All great. White chocolate... More

Located on the Unter den Linden the Dressler is an excellent restaurant to sit and enjoy a coffee, beer or glass of wine with, or without a meal. Unfortunately the building works associated with the extension to the U-Bahn currently detracts from the views when sitting outside. We had an extremely good evening meal inside this lovely building with friendly... More

Lovely interior, nice staff, good food (though I did order asparagus both times we went--gotta do it when it's Spargelzeit.) My husband had the gnocchi, he was quite happy. Just a nice, pleasant experience.

Very good Eastern European food with huge portions, of course. Located near our hotel , the Westin Grand and on Unter den Linden.

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
