Great Atmosphere/Good Wine/Good Service

Went there on a Thursday night in March around 8pm. Very quiet with only a few tables occupied. My server was excellent. Would rate the food 5-6 on a scale of 10. The portion was a nice size. The veal cordon bleu was good, but nothing special. The cream of mushroom soup was very good. The... read more

We went and had lunch at Das Edelweiss. The service was good and so was the food. We had club sandwiches with rooster instead of just plain ham or chicken and rösti with goat cheese. Bring an appetite, because the servings are big. A nice place to take a break from all the sight-seeing!

Very nice place and nice food! You have to try the schnitzel...It's huge! Also the salad with salmon was really good. Despite the fact that the restaurant was really fool the waiter did a great job and was always kind and smiley. Prices are fair.

We were in the Wintergarten a Saturday evening to watch the WorldCup - great location, cozy (with sofas and huge tables) and the drinks are not expensive. I would not recommend the food, as it was a bit too fat, but the price was ok for the location (between 6 and 8€). Would definitively go back there.

We went there for brunch after partying. Under the sun viewing the parc was perfect. We ordered some nice stuff such as eggs, salads, bread, etc. It is the perfect place after partying, I advice it!

Hung out here for a little bit in the afternoon, after a friend recommended checking out the park. We had cocktails and sat outside on the terrace. Nice atmosphere, and a good place to chill out if you're in the area and need some R&R after a club. Couldn't say what it's like but they serve food, and it looked... More

I just love this place and Görlitzer Park. Their breakfast is very good, usually get the "Heidi sucht Peter" one, and then some extras. Their drinks are also very good. And after breakfast you can have a drink and sit down in one of the beach chairs, relax and enjoy the sun and view of Görlitzer Park, just perfect! :)

A place to be seen and see others: it's in Gorlitzer Park, and its very much a landmark of that area of Berlin. We had expressos, beer and a light sandwich, so I cannot speak for the food in general. The service was problematic, as it wasn't overly busy the last time we went but we had to ask twice... More

LOVED this restaurant!!!! We were there in the winter on New Years day so it was pretty mellow. The staff (every person that worked there) were seriously the nicest and coolest that we had come across in entire stay in Berlin. We chatted with our waiter for a bit about his experience growing up in East Berlin and it was... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
