Atmosphere

Went there for breakfast and it was great, price and taste were adecuated. It is not a "a la carte" they have a table with the food for the day and you pick and pay there. The place is also great for a night drink, slightly romantic even.

It is a Rip off, and the bartenders are rude and arrogant. The wines available aren't even as many and are particularly bad. A really bad experience.

We were there for lunch. There was some people standing up and no waiters to organize a line. We asked for information about the menu and the answer was: "what we have it is writen there" and if course, everything was in german. We tried a bit more but after some more minutes of bad customer service we decided to... More

Our bicycle guide told us about this place, explaining the "8:00 two euro wine" thing. We arrived around 7:30, after thoroughly enjoying browsing the neighborhood (including the dance box, which is a whole nuther story). The place was packed, but we found a seat and plenty of patrons to tell us how it worked. We had a blast and we... More

Woman working could not have been more rude. She first asked me "if I knew how much a glass of wine in Berlin normally costs" which was unnecessary. Only had two glasses. The wine is not very nice, and I had bought a bottle in a grocery store in Berlin for 2 euros the night before. When I left she... More

Drink wine, pay as much as you think it is worth and relax in this place which is one of the most comfortable and atmosperic choices in Berlin. Definitely unique!

Really loved this place. Warm, authentic atmosphere, great cake, and friendly people. A little gem in the heart of Berlin.

While on a recent trip to Berlin we were regular visitors to Weineri for coffee and an afternoon carott cake and glass of wine. We were staying in an apartment down the street and after a long day sightseeing we would drop in here for an hour or so. We found the service extremely pleasant and the coffee excellent. We... It is a cool place except that unfriendly staff. Sometimes there is a lady working who is treating everyone as a criminal. I had the experience yesterday when I was paying 6 euros for 2 glasses of whine. The bar tender ran after me to tell me that it isn´t enough to pay just coins treating me like a criminal. They... The first impression was good, good atmosphere, smiling person introducing you to the different wines. The fee of 2 euros to have a glass, that you filled up with the wine you want and pay what you reasonably think you drank... I tried a sip of nearly all bottles of wine open, impossible to really chose among all those disgusting... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
