Small location and discreet restaurant. You can easily walk past without noticing its a restaurant. My traveling companion and I went there last Sunday on a friend's recommendation. We walked in without a reservation but were able to get a seat. Just like the rest of Berlin, its a minimalist restaurant that focuses on the food they produce. The food... More

Arrived here based on the good reviews on tripadvisor. The atmosphere of this place is great and the sushi even better. I have never had such good sushi in my life, especially the salmon and tempura (forgot the exact name). The value for money is great at this place. We payed eur 45 for 2 including drinks (wine).

Some friends who live near by wanted to take us here, and made sure to order a table in advance. (When we showed up at 19.30, all other tables were occupied, so they knew what they were doing.) As you may know from other reviews, the entrance/facade is quite modest - incognito could be a fitting description. So we showed... More

a seductive jap restaurant in booming area, with plenty of bars and restaurants. totally packed hence booking necessary for dinner, however not entirely clear what the fuzz is about : sushi are good but not too exceptional, maki have well too much rice but, above all, the wait time is excessive: one hour (!) to get first item is well... Nice little restaurant in PrenzlauerBerg. The food is great and the price is cheap. My favorite japanese restaurant I have ever tried in my life. Moreover the taste of the food is not just great for how it is prepared but no doubts about the quality of the raw material. Excellent fresh fish. I wonna go at Omoni's at least... More

On a city break from Scotland, we turned up without a reservation but were welcomed warmly. We had the house special sushi meal for two, with Kirin Ichiban beer and a glass of red from South West France. All very tasty and a lovely atmosphere; just the right balance of lively, sophisticated chat and a relaxed vibe. It is a... More

The sushi is amazing! You can really taste that the fish is fresh. The restaurant is not very big so I would recommend making a reservation beforehand. Make sure to bring cash as it is not possible to pay by card. Overall the restaurant is cozy and the quality of the food is great. I would definitely go here again if... More

The sushi here is simply delicious! It's a small place but clean and cozy. The menu offers a lot of choice, I would recommend the Kopenhagen menu for a good mix. The fish is fresh and so so tasty, also the rice bowls are amazing (we had the shrimp one). The price is really good for the quality offered. I... More

We ate here early, which is just as well as it was fully booked from 8pm onwards. Really lovely decor (although the bench seats with framed carpet behind on the walls were very uncomfortableh. The frame hits you right in the mid of the spine!) We had to ask the waitress to explain the menu, as, to our shame, we... More

Omoni is a cozy small restaurant in Prenzl'berg perfect for a date or for a dinner with a small group of friends. I luckily got to know it because it was close to my old office :) otherwise no chance! After my first visit, I was so pleasantly surprised that I came back several times always trying a different "don"... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
