I took a BurgerMeister burger with Jalapenos, and it was one of the best I had in my entire life. The location is perfect for this kind of food. If you see the queue, it's worth doing it!

Burgers that actually taste of beef instead of watered-down matter. You have to sit on an upturned Coke crate under the L but it's not the sort of place you go to expecting quail eggs; just very tasty street burgers. In fact, it's probably one of the tastiest I've ever had. The satay dip for the chips is pretty cool... More

Amazing place in a vibrant Kreuzberg district. You cannot miss this ex-public toilet building with a huge queue waiting to order so-called 'the best burgers in Berlin'. Relatively cheap with a menu choice for both meat and tofu lovers. Could not taste the big difference between Meisterburger and Hausburger but both were delicious. It is quite filling too, so depending... More

Was told if you go to Berlin you have to go to Burgermeister. It didn't disappoint. You form a queue, this took about 10 mins. Place your order, chilli cheeseburger and fries. Pay, €7 and they give you a ticket with a number in, 10 minutes later you get your food. It was packed but you should be able to... More

Had this place highly recommended to us by Berlin locals so went out of our way to go there. Yes we lined up for about half an hour (it was a Friday night) but we actually made friends in the line who we later went out for drinks with! Burgers were AMAZING. Everyone we were with was so impressed. Hard... More

Well I was recommended this burger place by a friend. When you walk off the u-bahn and see big queues you know something special is about to happen. The order is in and you have a ticket number now wait for your order...... Yes it's not fast but it is with the wait. All fresh all to order. The meal... More

Bad quality ingredients, dirty and boring... Is cheap but just like any other restaurant in this area. There's many other cheap places to eat around the area, if you still want burger there's one place very close to it, in Falckenstein straße with the same prices, and if you want really nice burgers but double the price ( also double... I came in late at night with some friends, ordered us some meals. I handed the cashier a 50 euro bill, which he quickly switched with a 10 when I didn't look. He said I need to add more cash. I was very confused and thought maybe I did hand the wrong bill. I checked my wallet and I knew... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
