One of the best burgers I have tasted!

They serve really tasty burgers with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere under the bridge was something special and made the experience even better. Would recommend this burger place to everyone.

Had heard about how popular this place gets so arrived for an early dinner at around 5.30 pm and only queued for about five minutes and was able to get a seat. Burgers were tasty, cheap and service was quick. Fries were also good but a little too salty. A fun place to sit outside and eat some great burgers-... More

We had a great dinner at the Burgermeister. The location is unusual, their waiting system (you get a number and see how far away you are from your burger on a display) works great. Only downside: they see you take a picture and tell you it's not allowed. :)

What can I say about BurgerMister that hasn't already been said. I always make it a point to go here when I visit Berlin. In the winter they have a shelter with benches and in the summer it's open. The food is great (the cheese fries are particularly good - spicy warm cheese sauce). I'm not too keen on the... More

Best dinner or backpackers! The place used to be a public toilet and then they changed the whole concept. There are bo comfortable seats or tables but burgers are delicious and not expensive too. The same burger you can eat at Hard Rock Cafe for 3 times more expensive than here. Best dinner for the backpackers! Glad we visited!

My friends and I had read about Burgermeister on this site before going to Berlin, and decided that we had to try it. We went for lunch before visiting the East Side Gallery, which is very close. The burgers were yummy! So juicy, with excellent toppings, sauce and even the bun was delicious. And it is so cheap! The staff... More

Wonderful location in the street, you seem to live in age '70s because it's a simple and fast place where you can drink a beer eating a burger. It's cheap and fun.

It might be a bit odd ordering a meal from a burger joint which used to be a Public toilet back in the day, but seriously I do recommend this place to all of my friends. The Burgers are fantastic and they do offer a great variety accompanied with thick yet crispy fries. You will be waiting about 30mins for... More

I agree with Ermioneee's review below. The burger's aren't anything to write home about but the concept is - a burger bar in what looks like an old public toilet under a skytrain... It has the same vibe that Fergburger in Queenstown, NZ used to have when it was in Cow Lane, but the burgers are nowhere near as good...

It is a fun place to go but despite what the travel books say: the tofu burger is quite tasteless. Thankfully there is ketchup and mayonnaise. And the queue is long so when your food is ready you are hungry.

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
