Great view, limited seating

Went here for drinks with friends. The view is from the dining and bar area is great, but the available seating in the bar area (2nd floor) is quite limited.

The place is a bit hard to find, situated at the last two floors of a quite anonymous and kinda ugly building in Kreuzberg. The view from atop is amazing, and both the restaurant (lower floor) and the bar (upper one) have a nice atmosphere. The DJ console can easily move as a lift between the two floors, giving people... We had a dinner there on friday night. The service was fast, very nice and professional. The food was extremly tasteful and all worth the money. You can go one floor up to grab drinks, hang around and listen to the DJ.

Gotta be visited if you want to sample a range of cocktails at decent prices into the early hours especially when your hotel bar closes at midnight ! Don't be put off by the surrounding area it's just behind Pit Stop and the lift takes you straight there! We loved it so much we had 3 each and then went... More

It is not for the stunning views but rather the vibe, the atmosphere, that makes this place so special. Just getting there it is adventurous , preparing u for a lovely eve. Excellent service, very good food and at the end , following the dinner go up another floor for the bar- for a great happy lively end!!!

Bar's like solar are few and far between in Berlin, well at least from what I experienced in 4 nights they are. However, the bar offers great views of Berlin, has a good vibe and a good crowd! The drinks are as stiff as you'll find anywhere and roughly 10 euros a time but that is comfortably a double measure.... More

The Solar Restaurant is situated in a regular building where you wouldn't be looking for it, but that counts for more restaurants and bars in Berlin. The food was good, not outstanding but surely fine. The view is a plus, especially when you are visiting the city first time.

We read about this bar on TA and visited last Friday. It isn't too hard to find (go through the car park barrier and it's straight ahead). We were welcomed by the reception staff who directed us to the lift - this may now be my favourite lift! With floor to ceiling glass, it glides up to the 17th floor... More

Close to the Potsdamer platz. The restaurant is famous for it's views. We had drinks first and then a good meal at the restaurant. DJ played lounge style music all night. Great location for a night out.

I have to admit I had read some bad reviews about the kitchen but my experience was honestly very good. I ordered the roasted jumbo prawn, the roasted beef filet and the cheese cake foam. Both the starter and the desert were really excelent and everything was originally set. I didn't order wine but the menu offered at least 5... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
