Tasty food friendly service peaceful location

We had a light and tasty brunch sitting outside this charming little cafe/bar. The food was fresh, tasty and well balanced. Cooked perfectly the vegetables were not the usual Berlin mush and my Riesling chicken was delicious. Very limited menu but good food.

Interior with special touches unfortunately the food was tasteless and the soy milk too hot for coffee wish them all the best to step it up and succeed.

Came across this little gem by chance while waiting to go dancing in Clachens Ballhaus across the road and had the best three course meal iI can remember. The chef came out to tell us about each dish and they were all melt in the mouth. Very reasonable prices too, and I will definetly be back next time in Berlin.

Hidden at the end of a small street, with a nice shady terras along the side. We shared a cheese plate with some ruhrei and croissants. All fresh and warm, really nice! This place is very good for a relaxing break fest or lunch outside or to sit on one of the big wooden tables inside, reading a book or... More

8 of us arrived unbooked having found this little cafe restaurant by chance. Lovely staff, a warm welcome, limited menu but interesting, and we all really rated this place. Great atmosphere, nothing pretentious, informal and well run and we all agreed that the food was basically very good. A genuine restaurant with genuine people and an excellent evening.

A group of us decided to find places off the beaten track for breakfast during our 3 day stay. This place is quite hidden but worth the effort in search it out (we travelled 30 mins across Berlin to come here!). The breakfasts were filling and offer a good experience of German breakfast (think smoked meats, cheese and breads). The... More

Nice (biological) food. Small menu which usually indicates stuff is being prepared fresh and on the spot. Be on time to avoid items being sold out.

With a great location in Berlin Mitte with outdoor sitting it is a great restaurant. Reasonable prices with a good menu. the interior is like a pool with diving board and tiled wall.

This is a fairly no-frills hipster'ish cafe just off fashionable Auguststraße. It's not a place for haute-cuisine, but my partner and I enjoyed a nice stop-off here for a brisk lunch on wet and grey day in early January. Chicken caesar on dark rye bread was fresh and tasty, scrambled eggs on toast hit the spot for my partner, and... More

At the end of a short street this is an attractive and pleasant café bar. I'm in the better for drinks than food camp, but I've not eaten from the dinner menu. The breakfasts are too quirky for my taste with a strange mixture of ingredients which may suit the locals. But do go the place as its secluded and... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
