Excellent beer

We found this place by accident during a hot afternoon sightseeing and in need of a drink and a sit down. This is what I’d imagined a real German pub to be like (never actually been in one before). We visited this restaurant walking along old district. We were very unpleasantly suprised with the food we ordered beacuse it was smelly and not Well done. When we complaint all stuff said then are not speaking English and I should speak German in order to explain them the problem. Overall very rude waiters and bad food. We recommend to avoid... More

What a place! Absolutely loved the beer (try the dunkel), the ambience and the traditional German food. Went back several times during our stay. Would be fantastic in the summer as they have a big beer garden area in the square out front. Brilliant bar.

I love this biergarten. It is tucked away off the beaten path along the Spree River and next to the statue of St. George slaying the Dragon. Although the service is a bit slow, they have excellent outdoor and indoor seating. The food is super and the beer is always flowing.

walking through the old town beside the river we noticed this restaurant was packed with people waiting whilst others alongside were half empty, on this basis we thought we would also eat here and luckily because those waiting were in larger groups our party of five quickly had a table become vacant. it was clear many of the cliental were... This brewery serves its own beer for very low prices. When sunny, the terrace is really terrific. It's situated near the centre (Mitte) but very quiet and peaceful. You can also sit next to the river Spree. The streets around this place are also very lovely, with small and local shops. Especially a great place when you've a bike or... More

This restaurant presents all the typical Berlin dishes with good price. Probably because of its big size, it's quite easy to find table at any hour, but the atmosphere looks more like a fast-food than a traditional German restaurant. Portions are big i.e., for the dessert of the day, almost for two persons. Location is pretty to have a walk... More

This is a tipical German food restaurant. We arrived late and very tired after a walking day in Berlim. The service was fast and the tender was very nice and helpful, this felt like an oasis in the desert. My friends told me that the home made beer is excelent. We had sausages, goulash, chocrute and other german dishes, and... More

We stop by because we were thirsty, the place look nice and it was so hot! We loved the beer, and we didn't stay to dinner because it was early for us, but all the dishes we saw look generous and amazing! I think we will return to try their food! And the prices aren't expendive at all!

Staying in Mitte

Neighborhood Profile
Mitte
The center of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighborhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
