Tasty and big burger!

After discovered this restaurant on TA and with all excellent reviews I simply had to go to see what was the fuss all about. On the wave of burgers mania in the world on kitchen channels and all that famous cooks "rediscovering" burgers-this place is simple;piece of meat and fries. The portion is... read more

Me & the wife went in here off the cuff looking for somewhere to eat and some nice beer, when we went in the girl told us it was full or all the other tables were reserved but she said we can eat at the bar which didnt sound massively appealing but we went ahead with it, well what a... More

Mere words can't even begin to describe what this restaurant meant for me. I was lucky enough to spend 6 months of my life in the lively Berlin, and one day I came across a list of the 10 best burgers in the city. The bird got the first place so, being a burger junkie myself, I went there to... More

The best burger I have ever had was at the Bird. However you do need to make a reservation, preferably a couple of days in advance, since the place is really popular (we reserved two days in advance and could choose between 5pm or 10 pm). If you like burgers and a vibrant atmosphere, the Bird is an absolute must... More

The other reviewers were not exaggerating about the burgers, they are really amazing. But on our visit the service was pretty much non-existent - we had to chase staff for menus, to take orders etc. It was busy and they were understaffed but it didn't have to be that bad. The main waiter was very uninterested in helping anyone -... More

I have lived in the US for a while and tried all sorts of burgers. But this one was just out of the world. Without reservation the wait for a seat is rather long but worth it.

I have been there multiple times in the last four years and I think The Bird is one of Berlin's best burger restaurants. They have a great choice of different burger variants, which will suit everyone's taste. Although their House Burger is tasty, you should also try one of the many other variants. My favorite burger is the Chili con... More

I've been to The Bird on many occasions and never had a bad experience. The food is amazing every time. The staff are great and I like sitting at the bar (especially during Angry Hour) and having the opportunity to chat with them. I was even lucky enough once to be sitting at the bar when a certain whiskey song... More

I'd been recommended 'White Trash' in Berlin but ended up here instead - we hadn't booked, turned up around 8ish and quickly got a table - we had the napalm wings and a couple of 'Da Birdhouse' burgers with a couple of beers. Great food, big portion sizes, I'd recommend it to others and would definitely go again if I'm... More

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
