The Bird is the Word

Finally being in Berlin meant finally being able to pay a long overdue visit to The Bird in Berlin, recommended by none other than The Hotdog Judge (from Denmark). The Bird offers a range of really good tasting food served in very large portions. The staff were friendly. Service was quick whilst restaurant was extremely busy. Always try and call ahead to book a table or you might have a long wait

We came here in a large group on a Saturday night and had a very good meal. The selection of beers and burgers is excellent and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was slow, but the restaurant was busy and we were a large group. The staff were nice so we were not too bothered that it took a long... More

This place is really great. Was there with some of my friends and we tremendously enjoyed it. The food is good, portions relatively big. The service is okay and the staff nice. but its really the burgers that count! Would definitely recommend it to all burger lovers out there.

What to say ? Good burgers, good beers and good music. The joint is very popular if you are more than two persons you will have to reserve a table. Remember to bring cash they do to accept credit cards

The Bird was packed. The majority of the tables were empty but reserved. We were finally given a shared table, which was fine! The burgers were juicy, grilled to perfection. The fries weren't crispy, but tasted good! The only disappointment were the burger buns. They used english muffins which were really tough. The service was friendly but not very attentive,... More

Visited the place multiple times because their burgers are delicious but most of the times the service was mediocre.

Terrible service, incompetent hostess; told us to come directly when we called to reserve and then made us wait for more than an hour to seat us, the table didn't fit us as we shared it with two more groups. Most of the staff is rude and lies to costumers; the hostess was supposed to call us when our turn... More

Had to wait for an hour to get seated. The waitress put us on the waiting list and claimed she had called..there were other customers complaining about the same thing..they got a seat only after starting an arguement with her (Half the tables were empty) The burgers that came after another 50 mins of waiting are good..far from the best... Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
