This place definitely satisfied my craving for vegetarian food with the nice dishes. Everything seems to be fresh. I had some tofu meet about which I was pleasantly surprised because I couldn't tell it was vegan when I ate it. We had to wait long though and the atmosphere of the restaurant could also be better.

Second visit in two years. Will return each year on our annual trip to Berlin from now on. Extremely good value with a menu and level of food quality which can match any excellent veggie restaurant. They don't take plastic, but the prices mean that one usually has enough cash anyway.

I'm not writing much comments but this vegan place really deserves this title: the food was amazing (I had some rice and an eggplant stuffed with tomatoes, cheese and other ingredients I don't remember sorry! but the thing was gorgeous) for a very reasonable price (something like 13€) and the place itself is simple but nice (we were outside: no... Seven of us came on this wonderful vegetarian restaurant at about 10 p.m. while looking for somewhere because the place we had thought of going was full. Great atmosphere, very good food, all of us very happy to have found such a nice place. Would recommend to anyone. Very good value for money as well.

I’m not vegetarian, but I went here to try something different. The reviews seemed good, and so we went quite late one evening. It was dark and so we sat inside. The café/restaurant is in an old building which retains an original character. This is typical Berlin to me, find an old building give it a lick of paint, furnish... More

This is a perfect little restaurant. It is definitely worth the few extra steps from the main roads. It is really cosy and makes you feel at home. We tried about five different dishes, all delicious! Don't worry if you are not a vegetarian, it is very likely you will love Café V anyway.

My ds17 and I both enjoyed this place very much. He had the spinach balls/croquettes in a yummy mushroom sauce, and I had one of the non-vegan pizzas. Very fresh and generous portions at reasonable prices. The place is very untouristy, but gets crowded for weekend dinners, as we found out when we tried to go back the following night... More

Good choice for vegos, especially in spring and summer as it's next to a square/park with outdoor seating. Beware smoke drifting your way, if you’re sensitive though… Food's generally very good albeit a bit too rich and sometimes a little too salty. On a great day it's excellent and on a lesser day it's still good, though. What is great... More

Neighborhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighborhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and 60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and 90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighborhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
