Easy to like.

We ate just appetizers. Mango salad, green papaya w/ chicken, spring rolls and a Bao Burger. The Bao Buger was a hamburger, but, oddly, with that fresh Vietnamese taste. it was good. The mango salad and green papaya salads were very clean but complicated...lime, mint, basel...all good. It is a... read more

Very nice setting. Surprising fusion-style dishes. Definitely not a traditional Vietnamese restaurant.

After reading positive reviews, we went to have dinner at this vietnamese restaurant. Quiet location on a calm sidestreet. Nice ambience. But it didn't live up to the hype. First, after getting our menus, the waitors stressed us for our order which was completely unnecessary. Then, after dinner, we realized that the drinks were better than the food. The food... More

So, I finally figured it out after reading dozens of reviews...if you are from Northern Europe, you will find this place to be "amazing". If you are American, British, or heaven help you, from Southern Europe or South America, you will find this place to be as dull as dishwater. Flavorless. Bland. Completely forgettable. Hardly unique in Berlin in this... More

We came late on a Thursday night, hungry and tired. But as soon as we came in in this great place with jazz music playing in the background, we were amazed. The food was very good and affordable. The restaurant was packed compared to the others we passed on the way- so this is a popular spot!

Had an absolutely fantastic meal at Si An, and found it to be an all round wonderful restaurant. Amazing flavours, fresh ingredients, reasonable prices and lovely ambience. The staff were friendly but not intrusive, and they were very helpful in fully explaining the specials to us, which were written in German. Honestly one of the best meals we've had in... More

Ordered the beef pho soup, it was rather good. Having been to Vietnam and having eaten Vietnamese food for some weeks I would rate it as average in comparison to the "original". It has an interesting environment, very intimate. Reasonable prices, not too expensive.

The pho soup tasted quite good but the beef was too well done.. The special for the day which was Rice with green curry chicken, this was tasty.. It would be better if the rice is not mixed together... Fresh spring roll was pretty good, need more selection of the content, not just chicken and tofu... I did like the... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
