Delicious authentic Koren food in quirky atmosphere!

I know you don't usually go to Berlin to get good Koren food but this place is worth a stop. The place is interesting in and of itself. The place has about three long tables inside that get full by about 12:15 for lunch. You have to help yourself to a menu from a basket and to forks and knives... read more

After reading several reviews about Ixthys providing genuine tasty Korean food. This seemed to be confirmed with the arrival of a couple of korean folk. My wife and I were really interested in trying it. We have had a previous experience with Korean food before but we felt the place we went to was watered down to the local population.... More

Absolutely amazing Korean food. Unusual but impressive decor and the food is incredible given the prices offered. But warning: it gets very spicy (I speak as someone able to tolerate most spicy food) after a few mouthfuls! Make sure you have plenty of water, but otherwise this is really excellent/

We had lunch here on 3 occasions during a recent visit to Berlin. Ixthys is an acceptable option for Korean food. The staff is friendly. This is a fairly basic place that is largely self-serve. The restaurant has no bathroom and you need to get your own drinks and utensils. The restaurant is small and intimate with just a few... More

We found it on TripAdvisor and decided to go. Was worth the walk. It was all as it was already mentioned here. Tiny, cosy, simple and friendly old ladys in the kitchen. The food was so so delicious and nicely spicy. I enjoyed my time there! Was almost dead because of the hunger but had a hard time to finish my food:)... More

I was really looking forward to trying this place after all the rave reviews on Tripadvisor. But sadly I was disappointed. As others have said the place is wallpapered in sheets of handwritten biblical text with highlighted bits. These were far more extreme then I imagined. There was even more bibe text in the plastic menu folder. The whole place reminded... More

Tiny Korean restaurant with bible verses all over the walls in German, carefully written on hanging fabric pieces. Oddly, this doesn't feel as in-your-face as it sounds. Order the Bibimbap. The best ever! Just the right amount of spice.

This was our second time to visit Ixthys. When my wife and I visited the place first time about two years ago we fell in love with their bibimbap and decided that when come to Berlin again, we will be back. The bibimbap was again very good but not quite as good as the first time. The main difference was... More

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighborhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the center of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the center of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
