Friendly, reasonable priced, good food

Came in without a reservation, four of us could take the last table. Large portions, good quality, very fair prices. We enjoyed the duck, veal ragout and ravioli. The dessert creme brule was the finishing touch. Recommended.

Oderquelle's kitchen is simply excellent. Here you get an outstanding variety of traditional German dishes that are not easy to find elsewhere. It offers very interesting daily menus, too. It has a very good selection of wines. Ok, there are better beers available in Germany, but that's a matter of taste. "Oderquelle" is definitely one of the best restaurants in... More

We had the Maultaschensuppe as an appetizer, the duck & the goose as the main, and the apple strudel & chocolate tarte for desert. The food was excellent and the service prompt, friendly and attentive. Overall, a superb meal in a cozy little restaurant.

I booked this for a party of 12 twelve people for a special birthday celebration, so was a little apprehensive after reading some reviews. I needn't have been. We were directed to a room to the side of the main restaurant, so had the room to ourselves, apart from one other couple, who were very patient, with our loud banter!... More

This was our final and best meal in Berlin during our week long visit. Found on Trip Advisor, and the positive reviews are definitely warranted. Lovely atmosphere, we sat outside and staff provided blankets as it was slightly cold. Excellent food which was such good value! The duck was amazing and there were so many other choices on the menu... More

Wasn't keen on sampling German food but Oderquelle changed my view. Tempting menu choices and my veal liver was melt in the mouth with delicious accompaniments . My husbands steak was equally yummy. Nice rustic surroundings with great service from our waitress who recommended beer and wine which were perfect.

Four of us dined well for 56 euros. Great food, especially the duck dishes. We really wanted to try their signature goose leg but it was out of season. Strongly recommend eating here.

Group of 3 arrived at 8 and we're seated straight away. We had the pork, duck and steak. Probably waited nearly 30 minutes for our meals to arrive while we nursed our drinks. The duck and pork are slow cooked and I found it quite dry. The steak was good but nothing spectacular. If you're in the area it's a... More

During our stay in Berlin we had dinner at Oderquelle and loved it. We had the flammkuchen and chicken salad and they were both very big portions and tasted delicious. The waitress was very friendly and suggested a beer that was great and complimented our meals. I wish we had gone their sooner so that we could have enjoyed another... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighborhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighborhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
